I was having a discussion on an Isles page about how accurate the US Thanksgiving rule is, reasons it exists, and how long it's been around. I assume the Bettman point and/or expansion pushed that out to US Thanksgiving. I can find info that says the Thanksgiving rule is 76.7% accurate starting in the 05-06 season, but can't find info on it before then. Wasn't that predictor accurate before then? I remember hearing about it in my freshman year of college, which was 93-94. Any of you nerds know where to find info on the "rule" going back that far?
