Kraken win a playoff round!

Damn, maybe we were quick to dismiss Ron Francis. Infinite forechecking works!

Avs fans know very well that first round Philipp Grubauer is really good. Second round Grubauer? We will see.

Congrats to the Kraks, they absolutely earned every bit of that seven-game victory. I'll admit both Hakstol and Francis have surprised me because I thought making a blueline that big and slow in this economy was a huge detriment, but the key is, their forwards are so damned fast and so many are quality puck-battlers that they offer just the right support for those guys.

I could totally see them go on a big run, the Stars and Golden Knights and Oilers are obviously quality teams but all have their vulnerabilities that a team like Seattle could exploit.

Interesting moves by the Kraken so far this offseason, moving on from high performers Sprong, Geekie and Donato. Probably playing it smart that they won't repeat their 2022-23 numbers.

Instead, they get Spokane's own Kailer Yamamoto on the cheap and pick up the nearly finished Brian Dumoulin for a pretty negligible amount.

Vince Dunn cashes in after a career year: 4 x 7.35M AAV.

He's the man on offence on the back end here, so no reason he can't put up points again.
