It's deserved IMO but also, the refs completely lost control of the situation. "Game management" my ass.

What's funny is that he should've gotten a much heftier suspension in a previous game for elbowing Marcus Johansson in the head and giving him a concussion. THAT one was totally uncalled for.

So he extends 2 years 12.5 AAV. I would think this makes the MN Kaprizov deal look even worse and wonder if we are going to see more stars take less and mids get overpaid.

But we discuss him everywhere else, there are over 22 pages of postings that mention McDavid.

He's doing a Sydney Crosby, taking less than he's worth to try and win a cup. If the Oilers can't win in two years he can move on somewhere else. Good on him, that frees up $7 mil a year for the Oilers to give him the best chance of winning.

However for whatever reason they've been unable to correct their goal tending issues, in what a decade? If they can't do that, they are always going to be questionable imo.

Getting a viable starting goaltender isn't the easiest thing to do, but good God even I could've found someone better than the parade of sieves they've put behind McDavid & Co.
