Fuck 16th-ranked Penn State forever.

My UAH Chargers are not ranked, will play both Colorado teams (CC and DU) next week.

Why UAH?

A buddy of mine is a prof at UAT.
Thanks Chuck, E.L. and Harmy!

I just like their story--they went from having the entire program cut, to reinstated, to being a viable hockey program...in ALABAMA. Just wish they had a better name than "Chargers." Their most notable alum thus far is Oilers goalie Cam Talbot. I also happen to have two nieces growing up in Mobile.

Plus I kinda soured on the DU Pioneers when the AD fired head coach George Gwozdecky with zero explanation.

I have also vowed to watch more local hockey, which includes the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Red Wings prospect David Pope is a product of their program.

Don't know why so many team websites don't differentiate between exhibition games and the real thing, really annoying.

Anyhow, DU off to a 2-0 start under new (and very, very young) head coach David Carle. There were questions considering the mass exodus of players to the NHL this offseason.

And yes, he's Matt's brother.

And Avs fans don't care about any of that because CALE. MAKAR.

UAH off to a pretty rough start though, including a blowout/shutout loss to DU.

Makar now has 8 points in 4 games, tied for the national lead in scoring. Can't help but be freakin' excited about this kid.

The star player for Arizona State's hockey team is a Phoenix native named Johnny Walker. He's undrafted, and if the Yotes don't one day give him a shot they're nuts.

Good gravy, the number one ranked St. Cloud State, the runaway odds on favourite to win the Frozen Four all season, gets bounced in the first round of the NCAA tournament to American International from Springfield, Mass. Never heard of them in my life.

Most of St. Cloud's nucleus is graduating, leaving Habs prospect Ryan Poehling to decide whether he wants to play his senior year on a rebuilding team.

DU headed to the Frozen Four. They face off against Avs top prospect and Hobey Baker favorite Cale Makar, who prevented Notre Dame (and other Avs prospect Cam Morrison) from making it three straight trips to the FF beating them 4-0. Makar had a goal and was plus-2 in the game.
