So, is there a consensus #1 pick? How about 1-10? Asking for a friend.

Rasmus Dahlin, best prospective defenceman since I don't know when.

https://thehockeywriters.com/rasmus-dahlin-the-next-erik-karlsson-or-better/

In the last 10 years I think only Mathews, McDavid and Tavares were more highly thought of, so he appears to be very, very good for whoever lands him.

Yep, Dahlin...he's the tanking prize. Beyond that it's supposed to go something like this.

- Andrei Svechnikov, RW, described by someone as another Malkin...if he were a winger.

- Filip Zadina, LW, dynamic offensive player who's also defensively sound.

- Brady Tkachuk, C/LW, like his father and brother, big, mean, talented, and kind of an asshole.

- Adam Boqvist, D, a right-handed shooting defenseman who isn't big but boasts elite-level puckmoving skill.

It's really a toss-up as to which order it goes beyond Dahlin, but it's likely gonna go in that order.

Beyond that there's some notable kids, E.L. can tell you about Joseph Veleno, lots of people been singing his praises. There's also Quinton Hughes (Jack's brother) who is a really small puckmover but still looks like a player. This is supposedly a very deep draft, especially if you're looking for a defenseman.

One lottery simulator I saw had the Isles picking 1-2. Imagine the fallout in Calgary if THAT happened...

Incidentally, the most-hyped goalie prospect going into this draft I'm reading about is Jakub Skarek, but I don't believe he is going to be a first-rounder.

Veleno might be the next Patrice Bergeron. Already an accomplished two-way player with NHL smarts who just needs to fill out a little.

A mock draft updated with final regular season standings. The lottery and playoff performance adjustments will determine the final order.

Zadina plays for the Moose in the Q

He's listed as playing in Europe.

He and Otto Sompi (Tampa prospect - might be too soff for the nhl) are fucking unbelievable on the ice together.

Benoit Olivier Giroux may be benefiting from time on ice with Sompi and Zadina...

Interesting. He's looking good in Drummondville now, so maybe the trade was a kick in the pants he needed?

I agree a bit on Groulx, even if I kinda like his game. But yeah, whatever offence he's getting is because of his linemates.
