Is now open. My old man and I thought it would be a good idea to put the winners on the base. Seems to quickly be turning into a USA Vs Canada thing so you Canadians better represent!

We'll gauge interest and I am very open to odd categories and or changing draft type. Anything to make it enjoyable for everyone.

It is still a keeper league. So if you all are interested you've got a few weeks to deliver your keepers from last years. I hope to see all returning managers and perhaps a few new ones.

If you are interested just follow the link below

Hope we have enough to play.

Here is the carry over from last year:

Quote:
I am now in possession of the cup.

Unfortunately to remain a traveling cup there will have to be a buy in for this league so managers will have a vested interest in following through with the expectations. I've put in a lot of personal effort to maintain this league and purchased the cup as an incentive to get people from OTP to participate. Shipping is normally $60 to and from the US and Canada. That would be equally split among participating managers. Someday I'd like to see everyone from OTP be involved and have an actual cup presentation ceremony. How f'n cool would that be?

There will be additional keepers next year and a larger budget. Playoffs will no longer include the last week of the season.

I appreciate everyone playing this year and sticking through some of the bugs. With your continued support and guidance we'll get through it.

Depending on interest we can proceed with this league. There WILL BE a buy in for mailing the Cup at $60. No matter how many people. If there is enough interest we can talk about a pot to go with the cup (or to cover engraving costs).

If there is not enough interest to go through with another year of this well I guess that's it then.

Currently there are 4 teams registered. I won't begin preparing until there are at least 6. I've sent out emails but have received limited responses. I'll keep this open until October 10th and if there are not enough teams I'll shut it down.

Thanks.

Welcome returning managers and Welcome Captain C./Steve.

CC you might want to review the scoring above. The draft can be a bit daunting because of the bench size. Last year new managers were compensated with additional budget for Auction drafting.
The Auction draft works as a nomination and then bids....this can lead to some.....interesting and anti-climatic outcomes with people busting their budgets rather early in the draft. Please keep this is mind as no matter how much I increase the individual budgets that probably won't stop folks from overspending on certain players.

So unless I can find a way to award you Keepers out of the gate...which I wasn't able to do last year we will go with the bigger budget for you (that didn't stop Fogg from winning last year either).

There is an actual physical cup pictured above which I am in possession of. I am asking that all managers pitch in for shipping costs (Approx $10). If folks want more or a cash disbursement we can talk about that but with 6 people $10 a piece is about right and I will enter that into the league dues page. I will get working on the draft NOW.

RETURNING MANAGERS NOW IS THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT YOUR KEEPERS. WE WON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO FINALIZE THEM. THE KEEPER LIMIT HAS BEEN BUMPED TO 4 THIS YEAR.

I felt like we had a few too many spots to fill in this particularl league last season. Then again with so few teams that might be the way to go. Just putting that out there before the draft. I'm fine either way.

A favor to ask, since it's all about me.

The OTP $ league draft is this Sunday and it looks like the no-pay league I did last year with an old teammate is gonna be Monday. Otherwise my schedule is fairly open.

sorry didn't check this thread out earlier. How do keepers work? Does whatever you paid in the past immediately come off your budget?

Teams are finalized.....I submitted the Keepers.......to make it a little more fair this year....CC who did not have an existing team also received 4 keepers via the Rankings (he should be able to log in to see them). The league is small enough so this was easy to do.

The budget is $400. This provides an average of $15 for spend on every player to fill your roster. If you can't make that work well you have to own that.

Personally I think that's too much (I think $300 is more appropriate) and I would like to hear what everyone else has to say (so it may be changed).

The draft will last approx 1.5 hours and it is scheduled for Friday 10/9 at 1800 MST. If that doesn't work please let me know via email, PM or post.

I've tinkered with the scoring a bit for SHP and Shots against so please make sure to review.

League Dues will need to be submitted via Paypal NLT 1/1/2016. If you can't do that please let me know.

There is still time if anyone wants to squeeze in under the wire but we will need 2.

I think I can do that. If not I'll just set the pre-rankings and what not which will likely snag me a better team anyhow.

Also....I was speaking with Butch and it appears Captain Canada may have been our non-payer last year (not to be confused with our current Captain) in the Money league. Unfortunately I was one of those people impacted by that (go figure first time in 10 years). I don't know the entire situation or circumstances but i just want to make sure that we are all aware that there is a pool for mailing the cup and if the funds are not received the teams will be removed.

We have had hiccups in the past and I want to make sure I am very upfront with my tolerance level on this.

I was good with Friday but I'm taking my daughter to the Lions/Bombers game on Sat evening so that doesn't work for me - Sundays good anytime after 1300 PST. Thanks for the keepers. I'll set up for auto draft just in case - I'm good with that.

Regards!
