Not the first and not the last professional athlete to do that.

Thoughts on O'Reilly thus far? Haven't heard much about him since the season started.

He played well yesterday...he was a monster on the puck and set up Moulson for a tap in. Had a goal and an assist plus he owned the faceoff circle.

I am not sure how Kane is going to work out for this team. Columbus had the goalie pulled....Kane was coming up the middle and had a man on his right side. The man on the right side had a step and a much better opportunity to score in transition on the EN however Kane tries to shoot his way through bodies which didn't work.

I know he's known as a selfish player but that was truly the first time I had seen it yesterday.

That Ristolainen kid was certainly impressive yesterday as was Eichel.

Is he really known as a selfish player? Far as I understand it (haven't seen much of him myself mind you) his specialty is winning puck battles along the boards and freeing it up for his teammates.

I think Kane suffers a bit from bad ice optics. He's a big guy who handles the puck really well, but he moves at a slower gear so on the surface he looks like he's dogging it. Jumbo Joe has a bit of the same issue, I think. They do a lot of non-razzle dazzle grindwork, but when they score a nice goal or make a sweet pass, people think "why don't they always do that?"

Kane will score 25 goals but you'll think he can score 50 just because of how effortless it looks sometimes.

Apparently O'Reilly was found Not Guilty?

Dude was hammered, literally drove into a Tim Horton's, and then left. What the fuck is he not guilty of, exactly?

Greeeeeat. Someone was with him so no proof of who was driving.

I love the use of the word "allegdly" in the title as if the collision might not have happened.

I also love this phrasing "colliding with" instead of "drove into" as if the building played a part in making the collision happen.

Quote:
O'Reilly was initially charged after his pickup truck allegedly collided with a Tim Hortons restaurant, causing minor damage to the building

It's almost like they're rewarding him for fleeing the scene.

Basically the kid used all his new money to hire a crack legal team and they bailed him out. Seems like the local constabulary also wasn't all that enthused about seeing this through. Not nearly as bad as the outright free passes the late Steve McNair got in Tennessee, but kinda fishy nonetheless.

I can cross KeyBank arena off my bucket list. Nice place. Of course, me being there meant a 3 point game for the Sabres & Rangers, with the damned Rangers winning. But, I was in town for a conference and figured I'd take in some hockey instead of listening to more fish nerd talk.

Have we ever really figured out who, if anyone, "won" the trade involving Kane, Bogosian, and Myers? It just feels like those guys are hurt all the damned time so it's a wash.

I think the Sabres and Avs have one problem in common--their team overall is too slow.

That and they gotta figure out what in hell happened to Zemgus...Girgrenssons.

Funny ever time I check lately seems the Sabres are scoring a ton but their last ten game record is still bad, surprised me. My guess with out watching them is they have checked out defensively and are just playing for stats at this point.

I'd kill for the chance to see this year's Avs team "play for stats." At least they'd be playing for SOMETHING.

Kane had a solid year, especially in the 2nd half. I just hope he stays out of trouble this off season.

(Sorry for the reply 2 months after the fact. LOL)
