68 - Martins Dzierkals F HK Riga (MHL) 18 32 10 18 28
95 - Jesper Lindgren D MODO J20 (SuperElit) 18 36 6 27 33
105 - Dmytro Timashov LW/RW Quebec (QMJHL) 17 66 19 71 90
107 - TRADED Analysis: 107 + Brad Ross for Martin Marincin

185 - Nikita Korostelev RW/LW Sarnia (OHL) 18 55 24 29 53

Some small talented guys in there. Guess they liked getting in on some falling Russian. 17 yr old with 90 pts at pick 105 seems crazy to me wonder what the problem is...

Looking for nothing but reassurance today that the rebuild is of a slower nature.

Has anyone actually said who's calling the shots? It seems like it's Dubas with Shanahan looking over his shoulder, which is certainly light years better than Nonis.

Kessel with either Malkin or Crosby is going to be fun...

Welp safe to say the rebuild process is in full swing and no quick fix.

There's the pain Babs was referring to.

On the bright side your team will soon have a Kapanen and a Nylander leading the way back.

Leafs sign Parenteau to a one-year deal. Hope it works out for him.

The Leafs should have lots of space to take on dumps along with picks and prospects in other moves as the season progresses.

How bad is Bozak, exactly? A 4.2M cap hit for a 28-yr old centre with consistent offensive totals doesn't seem that outrageous, yet it looks like the Leafs can't even give him away.

His possession and 5v5 numbers are pretty lousy, admittedly. Is he second line calibre? 4.2M for a second line centre is pretty good.

I don't think he's anything better than fourth line TBH. Maybe 3rd line on a bad team. Thing is, he came into the league as a guy with supposed two-way ability, and yet that's never manifested. You'd think by now he'd at least be decent defensively.

From what I understand the guy is fantastic in only one situation--when he gets a clean breakaway on goal.

Boy, looking back now, Brian Burke's tenure in Toronto was truly, truly awful.

He doesn't have much value so no point in giving him away when you have a floor to reach and other salary players you may want to move. May be a good 3rd line guy but like a lot of Leafs needs to play in something resembling a system to see what his defensive abilities are.

Basically, the only way he has produced those numbers is with Kessel and people equate that to chemistry. Kessel was slightly better without Bozak, Bozak was frigging awful without Kessel(40% Corsi, -20 CF/60, -2 G/60!).

Funny I see people on HFboards projecting next years lineup and laughing about how bad it looks and it does look bad. Thing is all they did was remove Kessel and suddenly it is plain as day how bad this team is constructed.

I certainly hope Babs doesn't try to ice a line with Parenteau and Bozak. PAP is a decent player, but he needs a good setup man. I imagine he'd do well with Kadri.

Eh...I'm bored.

van Riemsdyk - Kadri - Parenteau
Lupul - Holland - Komarov
Winnik - Bozak - Panik
Spaling - Arcobello - Bailey

Phaneuf - Gardiner
Robidas - Rielly
Hunwick - Marincin
Polak

Reimer (please, JUST TRADE THE GUY ALREADY)
Bernier

Yikes. That's a rebuild all right.

Of course this is assuming neither Nylander nor Marner factor into the lineup this year.

One-year deal for Nazem Kadri. He's still be a RFA after next season.

With all the one year deals the Leafs are giving to depth guy UFA's so far would have to think they are just looking to buy some middle round picks with the plan being to shop these guys come the deadline. Looks good they have to pay someone to fill out the roster may as well be working towards future assets at the same time.

Nick Spaling
Matthias
Parenteau
Arcobello

Worked out well with Winnik and Santorelli last year when it likely was not the plan to be so bad so why not do it intentionally now that non playoff contention is all but a foregone conclusion.

Also probably signing these guys to hold the fort, not rush Nylander/Brown/Marner into the show.

Yes agreed.

Hell, they may need guys like this just to reach the salary floor if a few more of the longer serving guys get moved.
