On the first day of Gen III, I was actually thinking of putting up an announcement banning any basketball or golf-related threads.

No need to ban theme... Just keep them in Gen II

Bah call it what you want, but the NBA it is still the league where the Elite players of their sport play.

Unlike some threads we allow. iiam:

Isiah says it was his daughter who was in trouble but that there was no overdose involved, Police and other individuals say he's lyin'.

I always knew he was a royal prick, but to throw his own daughter under the bus? Wow...

You'll regret it, Boston.

The Answer is reportedly gone...in exchange for hometown faves Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess.

Hey, the Nuggets had to do something. They couldn't win built the way they are.

So does that make the players acquired just a bunch of questions?

AI is a big expiring contract as well, twenty million I think I read. Oh well Guess the Nuggets think they can win this year with what is coming back.

I don't.

Well...some of it is change for the sake of change, some of it is to save some face by bringing in two faces Nuggets fans will immediately recognize and like. But I don't think the team is deluding itself into thinking they're a contender. They're not, and they know it. This is probably one more kick at the can before they admit that once again, the core is flawed and we need to start over. It's a familiar refrain.

Ah...what I wouldn't give to turn back the NBA clock to the 1980s. Even though the Nuggets didn't stand a chance against the Boston Celtics and the L.A. "Showtime" Lakers, there was never a better time to watch basketball, even in the midst of crappy dayglo uniforms and high shorts and socks.

As a Pistons fan, I like the deal. Not like we gave up any stud young talent to get him... I liked Billups, but Iverson is an upgrade...

After watching them without him last night(how hard is it to get a physical done Billups?)I would worry that the loss of "team" and going to a dominant handler and scorer could work out for the worse keeping others out of the flow.

I've always been and continue to be a big AI fan, but the team lost a reliable shooter, defensive presence, and above-average distributor in Chauncey. Don't know if they necessarily have the depth and talent to offset that. Detroit won't get any of those things from Iverson.

Besides, I'm not entirely sure putting Rasheed Wallace and Allen Iverson on the same team is a stellar idea.
