2025 Offseason Bruins

Post by harmfuljays »

Lots of coaches available. Bruins will probably do something stupid and dip into the old boy network with Sullivan.

Of course I will always remember those heavily favored Mike Sullivan Bruins losing once again to the Habs........I believe I went and cut down trees after that loss.

I wouldn't want to coach this sad affair in Boston.

Boston trying hard to follow the Leafs model apparently...if it doesn't work just keep doing the same thing!

Anyway.....guess there is no choice now but to watch Don and Cam work.

Projected cap space of 28 Million.....can they be Mitch Marner's landing spot?

Marco Sturm named new coach. Gotta be the first German-born coach I assume?

Bruins dicking around with coaching staff and super minor logo changes.

Draft is upcoming with the Bruins at 7. They have some decent picks at 51, 61 and 69 in the top 3 but they have to strike with 7.

Somehow Sweeney and Cam are still doing it and I wouldn't be surprised to see the recently recovering Milan Lucic re-emerge in the front office either. It is after all a good old boys club there so maybe we will get Tuuka or Patrice hanging around.

Some bizarre interest in the former Captain up north in Toronto with some mind numbing figures.

Ha...could you imagine Marner here and Brad up there!

After shedding salaries like a Siberian Husky the Bruins are suddenly in a position to spend.....let's hope they do it wisely.

There really isn't anything to note on the need to do internally front

Geekie is an RFA and they could take a look at Cole Koepe who is a UFA.

The D should improve naturally next season when not relying on Lohrei and Zadorov to lead the way.

Swayman had them over a barrel last year but the Oilers keep expressing interest. I am really not sure what the B's would do here as they have no other goalie unless they want to try and sign Vladar and go with a tandem. If Charlie and Hampus are going to continue to be hurt than yeah....it doesn't really matter who you have back there.

This team is woefully inadequate at the Center position...and not very deep in the Wings beyond Pasta. Zacha, Mittelstadt and Lindholm played well below expectations last year. Poitras was hurt. So maybe this is stand pat and hope it gets better situation at C. Poor Pasta! Lets hope he can maintain that easy going free spirited attitude!

Necas would still be a nice fit here.

Mason Lohrei receives a sizeable raise (from 925) with a 2yr at 3.2 per. This bodes well as he is only 24...Bruins should be able to see what they are working with completely in 2 years. Also gives him time to work on his game. He's still in that grace period while his game evolves.

Isaac Howard out of Tampa...interesting. I would be game for one of those middle picks.

Geekie not close
“There’s been constant communication,” Sweeney said. ” Are we on the doorstep? I don’t think so but that can change with one phone call… That doesn’t mean my attention isn’t on Morgan and being able to close out a deal. We have time with him in that regard so I’m not concerned.”

Don admitting draft mistake.....
After Letourneau was drafted to the Bruins, he opted to go to Boston College instead of staying another year in the USHL. Typically, the USHL is used as a way to develop players before they make the switch to either college or professional hockey.

With the 19-year-old’s choice, he struggled in his first season with the Eagles. He skated in 36 games, tallying three assists and a plus-6 rating. His production ranked at the bottom of BC’s freshman class. Meanwhile, current 2025 draft prospect James Hagens popped off the stat sheet.

Boston general manager Don Sweeney admitted on Wednesday that Letourneau could have used an extra year in the USHL.

“We talked a little bit about what would be the best place in terms of Dean and in hindsight, I think we all agreed that maybe another year in USHL, a full year of USHL would have been the best path,” Sweeney told reporters on Wednesday.

Yikes....this one is not good. Tanner Jeannot.... to be honest the Bruins have no 3rd or 4th line that is NHL ready......so I guess this is what they are doing.

Bruins continue to stock up bodies looking to throw shit against a wall for the bottom lines.

Kuraly is back. Matej Blumel, Jordan Harris, Alex Steeves.....nope no impact no idea.

Passed on signing Wortherspoon, Mitchell and Koepke I see.

The days of the dominant Bruins are over, I think, although I shouldn’t count out a team with Pastrnak, McAvoy and Swayman.

No Captain, No Money, No #1 Center, players scared to end up in Boston, endless trade speculation about Swayman.....but hey....there are sick new logos and road uniforms! And James Hagens!

How quickly I remember this version of the team after being spoiled for 15 years!

Prospect Challenge scheduled for Sept 12 and 14....with Preseason kicking off on 9/21. Yep....we're 6 weeks out!
