2025 Hockey Hall of Fame Class

Post by Pokecheque »

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/alexander-mogiln ... -1.2326233

Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Duncan Keith, Jennifer Botterill, Brianna Decker, Jack Parker and Danièle Sauvageau as builders and...wait WHAT!?

Alexander Mogilny, after 16 years, finally gets the call!!!!

With him and Pierre Turgeon now inducted...who is the "best player not in the HOF" currently.

Carey Price, but he’ll get in next year.

Yeah, he won't be out for long at all.

I was looking at a list, it's basically (no particular order):

Rod Brind'Amour
Patrik Elias
Keith Tkachuk
Pekka Rinne
Chris Osgood
Curtis Joseph
Ryan Miller
Sergei Gonchar
Patrick Marleau
Henrik Zetterberg
Ilya Kovalchuk

Of those, and this is totally my own bias talking, I'd probably go with CuJo or Miller. Elias was a phenomenal talent, probably missed out due to chronic illness striking during his prime years.

And...look, y'all can accuse me of being the Debbie Downer with this post, and I am not really opposed to his induction. He was one of the best to ever play at his position, and will end up being the last Hawks player to ever wear the number 2.

But FUCK DUNCAN KEITH.

Dirty as all hell, injured Daniel Sedin in a way he never quite recovered from (it was retaliatory yes, but still dirty AF) and I don't care what he and Toews and Kane say to their dying day, I believe Brent Sopel, Nick Boynton, and others on that Blackhawks team who said they ALL knew about Brad Aldrich and what he did to Kyle Beach.

It delights me to no end that Keith's career ended on a play where he completely failed to cover Arturri Lehkonen on a series-clinching goal.
