I hate play-ins but if that makes these final few games more interesting because teams want to avoid that scenario in the first place, plus with all this expansion they probably HAVE to expand the playoffs somehow, then I suppose it's the way to go.

They've got to eradicate these division-heavy first rounds. It's just stupid beyond belief not to do matchups based on 1-8 conference seeding. I would eradicate divisions and wild cards entirely and just go straight-up 1-8 with a play-in round for that 8th and final spot.
