Oh, Philly...never change.
Not sure why Danny felt the need to do that, especially after such a very public falling out with another highly-touted prospect.
What now?

Re: What now?
Well, Flyers are not exactly coming out swinging. Fedotov has been a total disaster since returning to the NHL, which is a shame because I and a lot of other people have been rooting for him given what he's been through in Russia. They also appear to have a pretty weak offense, not terribly surprising.
About the only bright spot I can see is Michkov. He's showing flashes of being a legit superstar, some comparisons to Peter Forsberg.

Re: What now?
It looked like they had something going. Now Hart, Gauthier, Farabee and Frost are gone. Michkov is the real deal but Torts doesn’t like him. Hockey Canada has deified Sanheim and Konecny for some reason.
They just cleared up a ton of cap space so if Rantanen or Marner hit the market they’re Philly bound.

Re: What now?
Did the Frost trade happen mid-game last night? Frost left the bench after having been on it, and wasn't talking to trainers before going. ESPN+ announcers speculated it could be a mid-game trade. Assuming that's the reason, that would be the 2nd time (that I'm aware of) that a player was traded mid-game vs the Isles. Duchene being the other.E.L. wrote:It looked like they had something going. Did Frost actually play last night!? I think they held out Kuzmenko in Calgary, that's nuts.Chris18 wrote: Did the Frost trade happen mid-game last night? Philly clearing cap room...for what exactly I don't know. I'll be shocked beyond belief if both Marner and Rantanen hit the market. Slightly less shocked if Rants hits the market alone.

Frost had 11:28 of ice time, Farabee 17:19 (and was -1).Pokecheque wrote:Did Frost actually play last night!? Tortorella OUT. Apparently his most recent comments did not sit well with the team and brass.
Not sure what to make of his tenure in Philly. Seemed very haphazard, but then again everything seems haphazard with the Flyers.

Re: What now?
So, because there just isn't ever too much drama in Flyerland, last game Cam York dressed, but didn't play. Why, you ask? Well, they couldn't healthy scratch him because--according to Elliotte Friedman on this morning's 32 Thoughts--you only have four callups post-deadline. Philadelphia used all of theirs, so they had to dress him but bench him for disciplinary reasons in Brad Shaw's first game. I guess he didn't even have a stick to start the game and they just gave him one out of pity.
And now Kevin Kurz is reporting that something happened between York and Torts that led not only to York's full-game benching, but Torts' firing as well. He X'd that both of them "crossed the line."
If that's true, that may actually jeopardize Tortorella's future employment prospects.

Re: What now?
Seravalli says it didn't come to blows but a VERY heated verbal exchange between York and Tortorella that led to both participants suffering consequences. Yeesh. I swear Torts gets angrier with each subsequent job. He'll be, like 28 Days Later zombie level if he gets hired and fired a couple more times.
