Utica Comets GM trades his own son- for future considerations.
I'm kind of hoping the son wanted to move to Cleveland for some reason and it was a family favor. Not just like "you suck kid. Go suck on someone else's team".
Damn. That's harsh

From what you've told us, going from Utica to Cleveland would be a massive upgrade in location wouldn't it?
Apparently his son can be in the playoffs now, which might take away any sting. I can't see the Dad moving him without at least talking to him first.

Thanks Chuck, E.L. and Harmy!

The Devils AHL affiliate was once in Albany, then in Lowell, now it's in Utica. I have no idea what Lowell is like but I'm guessing the drop from Albany to Utica is a tad steep.

I've never been to Lowell, but yeah, Utica is like NY's taint.Pokecheque wrote:The Devils AHL affiliate was once in Albany, then in Lowell, now it's in Utica. I have no idea what Lowell is like but I'm guessing the drop from Albany to Utica is a tad steep.
Good points. I didn't think to check standings. I avoid the AHL standings since Bridgeport is always in last.Bosc wrote:From what you've told us, going from Utica to Cleveland would be a massive upgrade in location wouldn't it?

On the surface it just reads like "I'm getting rid of my annoying kid".

Only time I remember a father-son relationship seemingly going south while both were on the same team was Stefan Matteau flaking out on his QMJHL team while his old man, Stephane, was still an assistant coach there.

I keep hoping Lou will fire Chris Lamoriello as Bridgeport’s GM. Then hire GMs for Bridgeport and NYI.
