Bucci says the photo was just them testing the board. We shall see...

I'd be happy if SJ gets number one. They were so good for so long, never won it all but the model of consistency. Grier is also doing a herculean effort moving out Wilson's immovable contracts. He deserves a treat.

Some experts stateside have theorized the Hawks might pass on Demidov because they have too many small forward prospects already, but an anonymous Russian scout says the numbers are wrong and he's over 6'0 tall, so take that for what you will.

Draft is this Friday! Here's Bobby Mac's top 10:

1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Silayev
4. Levshunov
5. Lindstrom
6. Dickinson
7. Parekh
8. Buium
9. Helenius
10. Iginla

Main takeaways:

Celebrini made himself an elite prospect this year.
6 big time defencemen in the draft.
The 2 Russians are kinda holding up everything because teams might pass on them.

Fans of players outside the big hockey nations take note that 2 Norwegian players are expected to go in the first round on Friday: tough defenceman Stian Solberg and sparkplug Michael Brandsegg-Nygard. They're both considered pretty polished.

This should be interesting...maybe nothing big happens beforehand but I don't recall quite this much smoke amongst teams with top-10 picks before the draft in quite some time.

Fun draft. They want to get rid of the draft floor next year and make it like the decentralized NFL/NBA drafts, but honestly they should just do it in Vegas every year. The Sphere looks incredible.

I suppose if you were gonna go big in the last centralized draft, that was the place to do it. Awesome venue.

With the ESPN influence it took FOUR HOURS for them to get through the first round. I mean, whatever.

Meghan Chayka becomes hockey's answer to Mel Kiper, Jr. Seems very knowledgeable but Kiper definitely has better hair.

Margarita Bob wasn't too far off. Also, I understand this is his final draft ranking. Another end of an era.
