Bring this back to life to comment on him now having the highest goal total in a season for a Leaf ever. As well the most goals in a season by an American Born player.
If he scores tomorrow it will also give him 50 goals in 50 games, yeah not the first 50 like Gretzky but still an impressive feat not done since Mario.

He's easily the greatest American hockey player of all time (I don't believe Brett Hull counts, and even so, there's still an argument to be had) and might be the greatest Leaf of all time when all is said and done.
And, here's the thing--I'd even go as far as to say he's the best player in the NHL right now. People treat it like McDavid's status is untenable, but AM34 has scored more and plays a much more complete game than CD97 ever has.
