I love it, especially the subtle tentacle in the negative space (again- reminiscent of a certain other aquatically themed team).
Here's a good test- my coworker doesn't even remotely follow hockey. He's a big basketball fan. He messaged me saying he is getting a Kraken jersey. He loves it. Saw it on Twitter and "has to have one". So there's a quick test on how it's going over with a new market.
