Well, if you also count the assistant he and his teammates shat all over in that Uber video, the count's still only up to three. Roy quit, and Torts is still in Lumbus.

But, uh, yeah...even I have to admit it's not looking good for the young man from Haliburton County. Not counting his short rental stint in Ohio, All three of the teams he's been on have gone completely into the dumper.

One guy who's probably thrilled about this news: Kyle Turris.

OHHHHHHHH SHIT...totally forgot about Joe Sacco!!!!

So that makes it 8 coaches in 13 years for Matt Duchene (according to someone on HF). Yikes.

Of all the fired coaches to be rehired by other teams this season, I had John Hynes waaaaaaaaaay down the list. But it appears he's the new guy in Nashville.

My thoughts exactly as I posted in the Preds forum.

Because DeBoer was doing so great in San Jose? iiam:

Not enough goalies to go around, but plenty of coaches.

Unbelievable, the one guy more responsible for their shocking success than anyone, and you turf him!?

That's McPhee for ya (and make no mistake, he may not be official GM anymore but he sure as hell still has a very heavy hand in operations). So prone to panic moves that undo all his good work.

Yup...I'm in a Twitter spat with RWC as we speak. He's wanted Bednar gone for a while now.

Frankly I think it's ridiculous but that's just how professional sports, especially the NHL, are run.

Friedman was asked this morning on NHL Radio who he thought was next, he reluctantly replied that after the latest disheartening Habs loss that Julien might be in big trouble.

After last night's no-show against the Hawks, where he benched Domi and threw him under the bus after, it wouldn't shock me. He's a coach that needs horses he can ride and he doesn't have any in Montreal.

After narrowly avoiding the axe last year, it finally falls on Bruce Boudreau in Minnesota.

https://www.tsn.ca/minnesota-wild-fire- ... -1.1442794

That makes two very nice coaching candidates available. Rocky Thompson is probably the next-hottest commodity but doesn't yet have NHL experience.

Not that it's surprising in light of recent news, but if you had told me a year ago that there were coaching firings aplenty and Mike Babcock wasn't being talked about for ANY of them, I'd have told you that you were on crack.

I think Babs will get another gig, but he's expensive and wants to have a certain amount of pull on the management side. He's the sort of big move you make when it's the offseason and you're committed to changing course.

Buffalo wanted him last time, wonder if they'll come calling. They might blow it up again...

Gah, if poor Ralph is one-and-done again, there's no justice. I don't think that happens, even though I think Botterill is in serious trouble (and he should be).

I still think Babs is a touch radioactive. I'm positive he will be back in the NHL at some point, but I'm not certain it will be this offseason.

I've always wondered if that particular "requirement" will eventually be done away with, especially with Quebec not being the hockey epicenter it once was.

I totally agree, but I still don't know if that's still a requirement.

At this point, it shouldn't be. Get the best damned available candidate. FFS, an American used to own the damn team.
