Unlike the Caps, who I think we all figured were bound to get their shit together eventually, the Blues were surprising Cup winners last season.
But can they do it again?
They're a veteran team at the top with youth and size lower in the lineup, which makes for a nice mix. They have elite guys on reasonable deals, from Pietrangelo and ROR and Tarasenko. They just got Justin Faulk, another nice addition. Thomas and Kyrou could improve, and maybe Fabbri will finally be healthy.
Of course, it'll all come down to goaltending. They're keeping Allen as an insurance policy, but this is Binnington's team unless he falters.

The road back just got a bit rougher: left shoulder surgery for Tarasenko, will be re-evaluated in five months.
