Some interesting names out there today:

Sven Baertschi (VAN)
Daniel Sprong (ANA)
Josh Ho-Sang (NYI)
Thomas Hickey (NYI)

I dunno...an offense-starved team is waiving a guy they traded for and known for his offense, so either that's very telling about Sprong or...Murray just sucks as a GM. Both are plausible scenarios.

Isles fans are livid with Lou over waiving Ho-Sang and to a lesser degree, Hickey.

Looking back...I CANNOT BELIEVE I missed the obvious joke here...

That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face

Murray don't want none unless you got buns hon.

Honestly if the Oilers don't go dumpster diving for scoring wingers they're nuts. Ho Sang and McD could work.

They only have something like $1.5 million in cap room and 48/50 contracts according to Cap Friendly. But I sure as hell would rather try Ho-Sang on McDavid's wing than frickin' Tomas Jerko.

We have a claim!

The Jets take D-man Carl Dahlstrom off the Blackhawks' hands.

Winnipeg's gonna be in for a looooooooooong season, aren't they?

Baertschi clears waivers. Gotta think there are a few players on a short leash and that 3rd line will be a revolving door for the Canucks. Schaller, Virt and Eriksson come to mind.

I wouldn't let Ho-Sang anywhere near McDavid if he is anything like he was at the end of his OHL days. Ho-sang was a neutral zone puck hog, which is exactly where you want McDavid to have the puck.

I'm no fan of Ho-Sang's either, I just think most (or nearly all) of those waivers are better players than Jurco.

Yzerman had Steve Downie in Tampa for years. Come on Stevey, take a fucking flier on Ho-Sang, give me a break.

Huh, a pretty shocking name to see on the list: Pheonix Copley. The Caps want the Ilya Samsonov Era to begin pretty quick here.

Luca Sbisa goes from training in Long Island to signing with Anaheim to getting waiver claimed by Winnipeg. You know defence is at a premium when...

God...there have to be a ton of defenders in the minors who are better than him. So many GMs still overrate experience over actual ability.

I kinda/sorta followed Sbisa since it was a traded Avs draft pick that was used to select him in '08...he never really amounted to much.

Hard to believe, but Cory Schneider and his contract are getting sent to Bingo.

Guy was as steady in the net as they came, but his body deteriorated and now that's seemingly it.

Keith Kinkaid rides the waive. An .875 save percentage will do that to ya.

Not sure why they thought he'd be the answer when even NJ didn't think he was.

Because his size, posture and positioning make him a dead ringer for Price. I think they thought they could just teach him to be a poor man's Carey.
