Gets a one-year deal to try and save his career. That's honestly about the best place he could've landed to accomplish that.

Every old NYer goes to Florida. It's not just the hockey players.

Andrei Markov wants to keep playing. Hired Allan Walsh to be his agent.

I think the Habs are out of the question at this point. Subban in an interview said he still considers Andrei a mentor and friend. Newark is a possibility. He's also training in Florida and TBay has been high on picking up cheap vets.

The RFA back log is actually pretty remarkable. So many, and so many significant players. This used to be big news when it happened.

Marleau wants to go back to San Jose, but the fit for now isn't there. Friedman says he wants to play and will look for another opportunity.

He's somewhat close to breaking the all time games played record, yes?

He'd be number one already if not for two lockouts. He's 110 away from the record, so a season and a half. Not insurmountable.

For some reason I thought Mess broke the GP record. Howe didn't play for 2 seasons, played 6 WHA seasons, then came back and played another full 80 at the age of fucking 51. Mr. Hockey.

God, that is one record I don't ever want to see broken. It was absolutely ridiculous watching Messier play at a sub-NHL level while not practicing, like, ever. Marleau was already showing signs of wear-and-tear last season. If he can catch on with a team this season, great. But call it a career after that.

Chris Johnston said Jake Gardiner is skating with the Avs who have arrived in Colorado to begin preparations for the season. Mind you, doesn't mean he's planning on signing with the Avs, just doing informal workouts and what not with the players who are already there in an unofficial capacity.

If the Avs did indeed sign Gardiner for a short-term deal, that would be quite something.

Man if some of these RFA's where getting stir crazy and ready to give in that Keller deal just gave them a hair more motivation to wait it out.

Marner done at 6 years and 10.8 something per. Funny enough I am far more interested in what this does now with the other RFA guys than the fact my team again paid a shit load more that I was hoping for to an RFA. My guess is a bunch of bridges now happen.

Anyone who locked up a star coming off the ELC at 5-6M is probably jumping for joy right now. Welcome to the NHL, where guys in their prime are actually being paid what they're worth.
