With the Memorial Cup in Halifax?

I couldn't care less.

Would prefer the Blues but my gut says Bruins.

Well, I'll be kinda/sorta rooting for the Blues...I'd like another team to leave the "never won it" club.

And it's been, like, a month since a fucking Massachusetts team won a championship, so...

The last time the Blues ever made the Stanley Cup Final was in 1970, and they faced off against the Bruins...and well, this happened:

That's a looooooooooooooooooong time ago.

Yes the Blues actually made it to the SCF three years in a row from 67-70 as all the expansion teams were lumped into one putrid Western Conference.

The lesson this year? Depth depth depth.

Both teams have star players to be sure, but I think they also had the depth and size to outlast their opponents. Nothing flashy, just solid rosters top to bottom.

I do wish it was depth because of quality of talent instead of depth because you're almost guaranteed a few injuries.

And as the case with many past Cup finalist/winners, Blues were extraordinarily lucky with the injury bug down the stretch. Sharks were okay right up until the end there. Same goes with the Bruins.

Butch Goring always says to win the Cup you need some luck. Lucky bounces, and the luck of players getting hot at the right time, and mainly the luck of your team staying healthy through an extra 1/4 season.

Suppose this one comes down to whoever gets the hot goaltending too. Rask's numbers are better than Binnington's, but who knows how the long layoff will impact rhythm.

Game 1 of the SCF doesn't start until Monday the 27th, so that's 10 days off for the Bruins and 6 for the Blues.

Why in God's name are they waiting so goddamn long to get this started? I know guys are banged up but this is ridiculous.

Heard it was NBC network driven due to Memorial Day TV audiences. Surprise surprise.

And then 3 days off between the last 3 of 4 games. So fucking dumb.

This schedule would have been awfully nice as opposed to the fucking garbage that the Wings got in 2009. Not that I've gotten over that or anything.

Game 1 didn't exactly fill me with confidence. Blues starting off fast and the Bruins outlasted them.

Could be a quick one. Bring on the offseason!

Bruins announce a marketing partnership with the mouthbreathing ogres known as Barstool, and the response is pretty much what you'd expect it to be.

I can't believe I'm rooting for the Blues, but I'm completely on their side now even though Ryan O'Reilly can go crash a fucking truck.

I mean, this is hardly surprising given the fact they had Conor MacGregor dancing around their locker room not that long ago.

Quote:
Barstool is a business run by a perpetually keyed-up guy, who said people protesting the state-sanctioned murder of black people should be “publicly executed” for blocking traffic, thinks Harvey Weinstein was onto something by trading work for sex, makes racist jokes about my colleague, sexually harassed me numerous times, ginned up a harassment campaign against ESPN’s Sam Ponder, and told his own employee that she’d be too ugly to be on camera in five years. It’s a company that holds its female employees up as a shield while getting annoyed when they don’t find racism funny, while some old cretin rates how hot child molesters are.

Jordan Binnington gets chased for the first time in his brief NHL career and the B's get the easy 7-2 win.

If St. Louis doesn't win Game 4, fairly certain that'll be it for them. I'm kinda ready for the season to end though, so whatever.

I haven't watched even a highlight from this series.

I'm so not interested in either of these teams or their stories or anything at all about the NHL right now.

Thank god for the Raptors.

Go Raps go!
