Already seeing lots of waiver activity in camp. You can follow along all season on the indispensable Cap Friendly website: https://www.capfriendly.com/transactions/waivers

So far, longtime Sen Zack Smith has been waived.

Ditto Hab first rounder Mike McCarron.

Rodin couldn't crack the Perry-less Ducks. Guess he wasn't much of anything.

So far no one I've really seen that makes me go GET THAT GUY.

I noticed Pontus Aberg was waived in Edmonton. Uh, didn't they, like, trade for him last season? I thought he was supposed to be a decent depth guy.

Kuhnackl waived by Isles. Not surprising.

Dale Weise, Daniel Carr, Dmitrij Jaskin. Sam Gagner on waivers.

Pontus Aberg gets claimed by Anaheim (stupid Oilers).

Of all the guys waived only Aberg and Jaskin are guys I'd consider if I were an NHL GM.

Kinda notable we're seeing a lot of expensive vets being sent out to pasture in favor of youth.

Marlies lose both their goalie on waivers! McElhinney to Raleigh and Pickard to Philly.

they where going to lose two of Sparks, McElhinney, and Picard it would seem so given that future think they made the right call on who to take the chance on.

They had another AHL goalie they where loaning out to Chicago Wolves so they still have one still.

What a roller coaster for Picks the last year or so. Goes from solid backup to key pickup in the expansion draft to being waived, demoted, traded, and then winning the Calder Cup. Don't know what the plan is though...do they send Stolarz down now?

Picard and McElhinney seem to be injury fill in and may very well be back on the waiver wire in a month.

I dunno...I mean, Curtis only has to beat one of Mrazek/Darling to stick. That can't be too hard. Picks' situation is decidedly more foggy (no pun intended).

Not many players passing through in the early goings here.

Habs place Jacob De La Rose on waivers. Solid skater and relatively smart in his own end, but the guy doesn't have much of a nose for offence.

Three names on the wire: Jakub Jerabek (STL), Ben Street (ANA), and Mike Condon (OTT) immediately following his disastrous showing against the Coyotes last night.

I believe Jerabek has already cleared. Street, ironically, despite a better-than-expected showing on an injury-riddled Ducks squad, got beat out by waiver claim Pontus Aberg. Condon is owed $2.4 million this year or next...he's gonna clear.

Marko Dano gets reclaimed by Winnipeg, so that means they can send him down, a rule of which I was not aware of.

Hard to say definitively because it was such a small sample size but he didn't look like an NHL player to me.

Damn...that's actually...sensible. I thought they were gonna move out one of the youngsters.

Of course the same GM signed him to that deal so he doesn't really get a ton of credit there.
