The Sharks must now be considered to have the best top 4 D-group in the league, superseding the Preds.

Burns, Karlsson, Vlasic and Braun...whoa. Look out Pacific Division.

Tierney about only substantive roster player the Sharks lose.

Talk about pushing all your chips into the middle of the table. It's win now for the Sharts.

I heard it's for a first rounder in 2020 and 2nd rounder in 2019.

Could be better for the Sens later if Karlsson does not sign and players get older.

I think this single handedly puts the Sharks back into the running for the Pacific lead. Too bad for the Flames.

What a fucking garbage return for one of the greatest defensemen to ever lace them up. Ottawa's incompetence knows no bounds. I don't care if they're hedging their bets on whether he's a rental or not, that's ridiculous. A third line center and bottom-pairing defender who did the whole not-qualified-and-re-signed-for-cheaper thing this offseason!?

I do love how the trade has the "fool me once" clause in it, yet somehow Wilson still totally hoodwinked Dorion for a second straight time.

It probably won't be Hughes but I'm fairly confident at this point it'll be a high pick.

Here's the thing. If this is all they could fuckin' get for the best player to EVER play for this organization while still in his prime, what could they possibly hope to get for Duchene and Stone?

Where does this trade put San Jose in the Smythe?

Last year it went: Vegas, Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Phoenix

As of today I'd put it: San Jose, Vegas, Los Angeles, Calgary, Anaheim, Edmonton, Phoenix, Vancouver

Vegas odds for winning the Smythe are out:

12-5 Sharks
13-5 Knights
5-1 or 6-2 Ducks, Flames, Kings, Oilers
33-1 Arizona
50-1 Canucks :Butch:

You're bang on Erik.

Well, the Sharks drop their opener to the banged-up-as-usual Ducks, but mostly because Martin Jones was doing his best Scott Darling impression. They looked pretty dangerous all night, even though it looks like EK65 is still kinda finding his way with his new team.

Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun feels there are three teams that Karlsson is Interested in. Rags, Sens and Habs.

Apparently, since his wife is from Ottawa, they would like to be closer to home. Of the three Brennan feels that the Habs are not a good fit as they already have Weber and Petry under contract who are right-hand shots.

Rags, probably the number one as they would surely pay for him unlike Ottawa

Hm... Manhattan, Montreal or Ottawa?

Congrats to the newest New York Ranger. Flights to Ottawa are available.

Well, San Jose once again able to convince a big free agent to stay: EK gets 8 years, 11.5M AAV to stick around.
