First British born and trained player ever to be drafted. Liam Kirk was playing in Sheffield!

Ironically, the first British-born player to make the NHL, Alan Hepple (played, like, only three games or something but he made it), runs the draft for the Avalanche.

Speaking of Soo kids, what's your take on Rasmus Sandin?

I wish the Wings had nabbed him earlier in the second round. He's a keeper. If Bruce had any say so on taking him, well done. The kid had played in various teams in the Swedish Elite League. Then he came over to the best team in the OHL and by season's end in his first year he was playing big minutes every night and quarterbacking the #1 powerplay. Here's some other draft guru's take on Sandin along with some with video highlights.

Thanks for the analysis, Skip!

I'm hearing nothing but good things about Sandin.

Incidentally, if you want your kid to be good in hockey a key may be naming him "Rasmus."
