Ok so from hockey's future...
Domi:
Quote:
Talent Analysis
Domi can both electrify and infuriate coaches and fans with his stick handling and skating skills — alternately dipsy-doodling through an entire roster and at other times making unnecessarily moves and turning the puck over as his teammates stand with their sticks at the ready. Domi is a young player whose talents are bigger than the game he plays. That’s fine when you are better than 90-percent of the other kids on the ice, but he will have to find a way to integrate his teammates in the game more as he progresses as he won’t have that freedom to freewheel. He has great hands and can be a spectacular passer. Domi’s also not afraid to mix it up, but can be goaded into retaliatory penalties.

So, essentially he's a fucking stupid oaf like his dad. Has a stupid oaff temper like his dad, but to make matters worse he's an arrogant selfish asshole with the puck or has been so protected, supported and loved by his daddy he thinks he's the only fucking player on the ice

Fuck that shit!

Then, our russian guy who I quite liked:

Quote:
Talent Analysis
Galchenyuk has excellent offensive skills, vision, hockey sense, character along with a deep desire and commitment to be the NHL's best player. He has high-end offensive talent to go along with a strong work ethic and a willingness to pay attention to the defensive side of the game. The big centerman needs to improve his first step acceleration, strength, physicality and defensive zone positioning to be successful centerman at the NHL level. His potential is a franchise player and possibly an elite star in the NHL.

4 of Domi's 9 goals were empty netters! How is that even possible?

Holy shit. I didn't know he only had 9 goals. Four into empty nets??? That has to be a record.

Only 9 goals for Domi, 4 into empty net? Now there's some talent. No wonder the Canucks almost traded Ben Hutton and a 2nd Round pick for him last season. Makes sense.

Bergevin assumes most of the risk of this "change-of-scenery" one for one swap. Domi's the one who has to get back to 15-20 goal territory to make this worthwhile, otherwise he's just a speedy grinder who doesn't produce enough offence. I think they see a little Gallagher/Marchand in him, and he's definitely the kind of upside player the Habs need to take a chance on.

The problem is Alex can score 20 standing on his head, and has scored 30 in the past. He needed to get out of Montreal but might really flourish in sleepy Glendale. If Alex plays like he usually does, he'll score more than Domi. If he gets back to 30 territory, which doesn't seem outlandish, the Habs might really regret if Domi can only score 9-10 again.

Trade seems like all risk with little playoff. Another trade where the main goal is to get rid of a perceived "bad seed."

My biggest fear in all of this is that it's an indication that the Habs will draft Keith Chachunk's son...

Odds just increased. It's clear character to them means North American hockey bloodlines.

Perhaps the Habs are looking to trim some salary in order to sign a free agent. Just looking for some logic.

Domi isn't really a 20 goal scorer. The Habs team shooting % is insanely low. So bring in a guy with like a 6% shooting percentage. Wait what?

Granted Domi's probably a 45-50 point guy but the Habs need scoring. Bergevin is betting on that change of scenery changing his world.

I mean, Galchenyuk scored 19 goals and 51 points last season on a team that didn't have an actual scoring line center, no scoring depth to speak of, a coach who didn't like him, and an organization that couldn't wait to get rid of him. Imagine what he'll do with an organization that actually knows what to do with him (not automatically saying Tocchet & Co. will achieve that, but they'll at least try).

This is so fucking dumb. Here's what I tweeted to E.L. last night, and this isn't even including the Weber trade.

Marc we need a puck moving defenseman and a center.

"Well then we had better move our center to wing and then trade or best d prospect for a winger".

But Marc who will play center?

"Move the new winger to center of course"

But Marc we still need a center and D.

"Well then trade the center turned winger for a worse but a little younger winger"

...Marc...?
