Why do you say that it is for the best?

Weise gets into these funks where he's so convinced he's a goal scorer he completely forgets about the rest of his game. He's not skating or hitting right now.

Doesn't sound like Stefan Elliott will be in MTL long. Flipped already

So you're telling me that not only is Pacific Division Captain John Scott not in the NHL, when/if he comes back he won't even be in the same conference!?

Poor Stef. Dude probably isn't NHL material but I still don't think he's been given a fair shot.

Pending trade call, NSH sending Victor Bartley to MTL for Stefan Elliott. But not a done deal yet.

Flynn out 6-8 weeks. Faceoffs dynamo and slick skater, but otherwise replaceable. Shame Bournival seems to not be 100%

Good for Bozon. He's made a miraculous recovery from meningitis and has some offensive skills.

This thread hasn't seen action since 2016...I imagine it's about to get pretty busy though.

You'd think so, but what can they do? They can't/won't trade Price, Weber. They won't give up on Drouin. If they trade Max or Alex it'll be for pennies on the dollar. Shaw is broken. They're better off keeping Petry and Gallagher.

Everyone thinks this team is going to rebuild and get a new GM but I don't see it. I think they think they had a down year because of injuries (specifically Weber). I see them maybe shedding some depth guys and going after a C in the offseason.

That's a pretty sad outlook but I think you're right.

Oh, and the guy who might be a solid rental for a contender, Tomas Plekanec, might actually be re-signed because their centre depth is so barren.

Other pending UFAs: Deslauriers and Jerabek. I assume they'll try to bring them both back.

Really sounds like the Central will be loading up. Max and Alex would look good in St. Louis and Nashville.
