Oh how the mighty have fallen. They're basically mid-rebuild, only they still have the rapidly ageing Seabrook and Keith on their blueline, CC in nets and a couple of big guys up front.

They've been going to the Euro well a lot to stay relevant, and just locked up Olympic hero Dominik Kahun, who I think can be a star.

Other recent additions by the Hawks: Northeastern F Dylan Sikura and Swedish giant F Victor Ejdsell. They're aggressively trying to rebuild on the fly.

Apparently Kahun hasn't officially signed yet.

I think they'll bounce back next year reasonably well IF whatever the hell is wrong with Crawford finally abates. Also, when Brandon Saad finally arrives from Columbus that'll be great too.

More concerning to the Hawks should be the fact that Duncan Keith will likely finish the season with one goal.

Duncan Keith will be 35 next season. Not sure he or the rest of the defence has what it takes to bounce back. Seabrook looks even older. Murphy busted.

Oesterling, Rutta, Forsling, Hillman, Dahlstrom are the best of the rest, plus they have a ton of college guys. Like, a ton.

What the hell is wrong with Crawford? Must be concussion related. You have to assume they would be in the playoffs had he not fallen injured around Christmas.

I'm still wondering, if indeed it was a concussion, what caused it.

Don't know if they would've been a playoff team even with him in net though. Something was very much off with them from the start. Overall, like Dallas this season and Colorado last season, they got old and slow. Interesting that they essentially doubled down on their current defensive corps.

Whatever the case, Q gets one more season, if he doesn't turn things around, he's gone for sure.

The Hawks have been going the Euro pro route to try to fill their roster in a hurry.

Signed German Olympic star Dominik Kahun, Swedish dman Lucas Carlsson (2016 draft pick) and Finnish goalie Kevin Lankinen.

They found a good one in Jan Rutta last year and probably could've kept Kempny, so it's working for them.

BTW, much ado about nothing, but Kahun got the highest allowable bonus the Hawks could hand out: his deal comes out to $3,775,000 AAV. Basically first-rounder money for a German League star.

Clearly they're as excited about this guy as I am.

Hawks re-sign F John Hayden.

Have the Hawks have had this many Chicago natives on their team? Hayden, Hinostroza, Anthony Louis and Schmaltz is from nearby Madison.
