Vegas winning is making everyone else look bad

Cox thinks Tom Dundon may have seen what is happening in Vegas and asked why his Hurricanes have been spinning their wheels for so long. Raleigh is hardly the only NHL city in which this question suggests itself: it could be asked in almost all the Canadian ones. The Knights started at a literal zero, with no legacy of bad contracts and old decisions, but they didn’t start the year with star players acquired by lot in earlier entry drafts. Hell, they don’t have any star players at all.

Would be so awesome if Vegas went all the way this year. They're probably one and done but would love it if they won that Cup after one season of being in the damn league. Would expose what a farce the NHL really is. Poetic justice.
What if NHL teams have no real excuse for consecutive years of struggle, ever? What if the league as a whole is, in fact, just dumb and unimaginative — a cartel of dolts being shamed before our eyes? Or what if it is all random, and betokens nothing? And what other zillion-dollar businesses might be like this? The mind of the hockey fan struggles to grasp the bottom of the Vegas Void …

Should probably be noted that the two GMs most deserving of a pink slip by a country mile both got extensions before the season was even done. And the next two in line in Long Island/Brooklyn and Montreal don't appear to be in any danger either.

As of right now, the Knights, Sharks, Kings and Ducks would all make the playoffs. Rivalries for life are being made. Love it.

Given that they're in the west, I'm assuring the Knights are fucked by jumping on. :bandwagon:

An expansion team has made the finals. Un-freaking-real. All they did was load up on speed and they totally blew by the rest of the league. Then again, Ryan Reaves scored. What a world.

In all seriousness, I heard their Cup winning odds were 500:1 last summer and knew I should drop $10 on them. I knew it, but didn't. :fffffuck:
