Leafs are done. Lest we forget that this in only the second full season for Auston Matthews and two years ago the Leafs were last overall with 69 points. This year they set a franchise record with 105 points in the regular season.

They have a very bright future ahead but just lack some hard lessons and experience. They'll be fine.

Leafs are done.

Bruins ahead by a nose.

And when the owner of said nose if Brad Marchand, this is a huge margin.

Yeah...I am not about to call it over yet either. Now...tonight will see if the Babcock factor has any play. Really just looks like one team machine moving as a machine with a savvy mix of vets and youth and one team of youth who is still trying to figure it out.

The Leafs will be fine for years to come and they will have their time.

Who is that masked man!? :siren:

Babcock has done an amazing job settling down his team and using their team speed to thwart everything the Bruins are doing. Couldn't even manage a proper forecheck to manage the stretch last night as they were scared of the counter.

I did I say I was scared of this matchup as a B's fan and this is exactly why.

Rick Nash has been well Rick Nash. Bergeron is obviously hurt and Marchand was trying to beat the Leafs himself. Torrey has to make better shot selections from the blue line....the puck has to get through because if its blocked the D can't recover in time. Actually the first time all year I have seen desperation creep into the Bruins play and the layered approach abandoned by the players. Bravo Babcock and well of course Freddie Andersen.

Mitch Fucking Marner. That play on the boards for the empty netter was beautiful.

Nylander had some extra jump when I was watching.

Looked like interference on Backes to me....but I couldn't tell as the Bruins started flopping in the 3rd anyway even though they couldn't do shit with the PP.

I almost guarantee you that combined with the superman finish on the play in question was the root cause of the no call. Refs also watch tape after, Bruins need to adjust and start playing like Bruins.

Still don't like the Leafs chances but they did look like they where working it out last half of last nights game so who knows.

Last game came down to the coaches playing a bit of chess and Babcock came out on top.

I'm sure Kadri has some.

Yes...the Babcock factor is large....probably not as large as Freddie's force field......but its a difference maker.

Right....as much as they won't like to hear it.....less acting like the Habs and more like the Bruins.....you're really desperate if you're relying on this year's questionable officiating to carry the day.

Very surprising the impact Plekanec and Kadri are having as well. Bergeron is being thrown out of the circle at a record pace. :argh:

I'd rather be the team with all the momentum going into game 7 then the one squandering a 3-1 lead. I would not be surprised in the least if the Leafs finish this up. I did pick this one to go 7 so I am not shocked.

Bruins need to drop the air of superiority and get back to the simple game. Do that and they move on.

Well that was an unexpected ride. Bruins score 4 goals in the 3rd and the Leafs fold like a cheap tent. Leafs D was atrocious. Enjoy the sunbelt Boston.

Damn...that amazing Kapanen SHG goes for naught.

Good run for Toronto nevertheless. Interesting to see how their offseason goes.

I feel bad for Jake Gardiner: -5 in the clincher!

Leafs have a few interesting UFAs coming up: Van Riemsdyk, Komarov, Bozak, Plekanec.

Do I think any of these guys are essential to the rebuild? Not necessarily, but they might lose their no. 1 faceoff guy, top goal scorer and their best sandpaper dude in one off-season.

I think JVR is gonna get paid. Devils might really want him.
