Supposedly he went out with a ilttle hissy fit because he didn't like how things went...just like he does on the ice.
The media seems to be having a contest who can praise Doan the most/best. The guy was a scumbag on the ice. Elbows high, shit between the whistles and the absolute poster boy for finishing your check 2 seconds after the fact. People seem to be more than willing to gloss over what he was on the ice to praise him for what he was off the ice...yeah it's great what he was on the ice. Still a giant shitbag on the ice.
That may all be true, but Barroway still seems like the worst kind of owner.
And now he fired Tippett.
And now, to paraphrase someone on Twitter:
On the eve of the NHL Draft the Coyotes have no coach, no captain, no top line C, no starting goalie, and while it's not really that big a deal, no president.
EDIT: It apparently wasn't a firing per se, Tippett didn't like the Smith trade or the way things went down with Doan, so they agreed to part ways.
