The rights to Yandle for a couple low picks. Meh.

Needless to say (but I'm saying it anyway) the Blueshirts really, really got burned in that trade, especially if Duclair continues to improve.

Looks like Rangers were unable to re-sign Yandle or were simply looking for cap relief as there is really no short term benefit in that deal.

Yandle is going to test free agency, but I guess Florida wanted to give signing him a shot first.

Would have thought that Florida wouldn't have done a deal if there wasn't a strong likelihood of him signing there.

Suppose we shall see.

Well, I guess the pun utilization turned out to be correct. Florida Panthers and Keith Yandle agree to terms on seven year $44.45M dollar contract.

Yes it is for A 31 year old. Also sets the free agency bar very high.

He'll be 30 when the season starts. I'm guessing they're looking at this guy as Campbell 2.0

30 is past prime in today's NHL.

The NHL is the new ATP.

Perhaps I should change the title to "Flying off the Yandle?"

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/flor ... story.html

Holy crap...7 years, $6.35 million per? Yikes, that's a risky deal.
