Is it wrong for someone to get a personalized jersey with fake info? For instance, to get an NHL team jersey, and put your name & number on it.

I think it's okay for kids, but laughed like hell at the grown man I saw in a Rangers jersey with his name & number.

Agreed, don't care if kids get one but they look pretty ridiculous on a grown man.

I saw a group of guys dressed in full gear at an Avs game once, they all had jerseys that read "5th Line" on the back. :durr:

Kids: OK!
Adults: No!

There are a few I have seen that made me want to punch a bitch (Gretzky on a Leafs jersey).

There was a fun one that I loved though. I worked at Adelphia around the time it was going under. One of my co-workers got a Sabres jersey, number 11, name: Chapter. Chapter 11. It was awesome.

For a while I was thinking of getting a Taro Tsujimoto jersey, does that count?

Kids is fine, adults no. If you have one from when you were a kid, don't wear it as an adult :P

These are ok though:

We have a small group on neonazis around here and a bunch of them have 1488 tattooed on their necks. I never knew what it meant for the longest time. I just assumed it meant punch me here 1488 times.
Turns out it was this:

I had no idea about this 1488 stuff. Who says hockey boards aren't informative?

Shouldn't have done that - probably on a list now. :cthulhu:

List?

they follow this stuff?

Not that it matters as I was simply using the internet as a tool to find out information.

And it doesn't mesh with my typical browsing patterns / internet behavior. If someone were to profile me on net use I would appear to be an email / hockey addicted person who reads the news, downloads pirated movies frequently, purchases songs from russia, visits 'arts council / cc websites, writes rants about right wingers (politically speaking) and spends too much time reading about gadgets.

Whatever.......I think its perfectly fine to put whatever you want on a jersey. After all if you are going to pony up $200 it should be up to you. There was a period of time that No Flame was worthy enough to carry my jockstrap (kind of like your predicament now Chris). Putting my name on a jersey is about as close as I can come to representing. The team should be f'n honored.

But then again you guys are the same folks that find Ovechkin entertaining, like Pierre Macguire, Trust Spector, Hate Cherry and want fighting eliminated so frankly...I am not surprised that I am on the other side of the fence here.

Well Harmy, other men who sport personalized jerseys don't adorn them with cigarette burns or use the fight strap to hold their packs...so if anyone is the exception to the "rule" it would be you. :wookie:

I have never had any one laugh at me for rocking my jersey and I highly doubt in person you would as well. The internet is a wonderful fantasy world though. :smilecool:
