He's been really MIA since his daughter was born. But I get it. That happens when priorities change.

Guys - I'm sorry! Yes, been a little hectic! :wookie:

But when you can growl like Chewie & your daughter growls back at you with a big smile; it makes it all worth while!

We can fire this up; may just have to start at week # 2, depending upon how quick managers can renew & select their keepers.

Of note, the one team that didn't pay last season has Connor McDavid, so his club is available if you know anyone who wants it.

I'll be back tonight (on vacation this week!) But first, I must go fishing. In the meantime, if we can just get a confirmation of who is in.

We're only going to miss week # 1

mportant: Head-to-Head leagues which draft on Wednesday, Oct 12 or later will miss fantasy Week 1, which runs Wednesday, Oct 12 - Sunday, Oct 23. These leagues will start scoring in the next full fantasy week after their draft.
The first day of regular season games is Wednesday, Oct 12.

Looks like Sunday is the preferred day to draft .... some are asking for THIS Sunday though.

That will be difficult, unless everyone wants to select keepers tonight?

We've always done 4 ... Want to do 5 now? I know a few others were on board with that & I wouldn't mind keeping Willie Nylander around to be honest!

Allowed, up to 5 keepers, but no more than 1 goalie? (Obviously not required to keep players, but certainly can be a benefit).

I'm cool with this as long as everyone else is.

:wookie:

Oh, and how about that Auston Matthews kid?

As per my norm I'm okay with what ever rule changes are put in place. Still think shots against is a good goalie stat to discourage goalie sitting, but never seems to be much support for that.

I only kept two. I'll take my chances, I wasn't happy with last year's team at all.

You had no late round steals? that is where you can make some serious hay with keepers in this format.

I'd like to see some more spice in the league this year so the SHA is a good stat to add.

My team f'n sucks and everyone else keeping 5 players doesn't do much for my improvement chances! I could never quite figure out this format either! If we want dynasty building there are much better sims to play.

Hopefully that shit bag Price plays this year.
Bergeron and Burakovsky are my 3 keepers.

Eh, not really. I think that was the problem.

I upped it to three. I might be making a mistake cutting King Henrik loose but given prognostications on the Rangers and the fact that I'm just sick kinda sick of his dapper ass.

Question re: keepers:

I understand this:
Quote:
"Also -- you can select up to 5 keepers (though no more than 1 goalie). As in the past, the first season a player is "kept" (so in other words, the player's 2nd year on your team), they maintain their original draft spot. Each year afterwards, they move up 3 draft positions.

For instance, I am keeping Johnny Gaudreau, who I originally drafted in October, 2014 with my 19th round draft pick. It didn't cost me anything to keep him for our 2015 draft, but now, since I am keeping him again, he will move up 3 spots and I forfeit my 16th round pick."

But I have PK Subban on my team and it says last year he was round 3, pick 2 (https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/54068/lastseason). How do I know if he was drafted there or protected there? I traded for him mid-season so don't know if he was a keeper or not. I would protect him at Round 3 but not if he is moving up to Round 1.

Thanks for the quick payment Hammers!

Traded / dropped keepers:
Any traded keeper or waiver-wire acquired keeper will still be subject to move up 3 rounds if the new organization elects to keep the player the following season. If a keeper is dropped & passes through waivers unclaimed & is then picked up at a later time & kept, his compensatory value will move to the bottom of the draft

PK has been a keeper dating back to when he was drafted by "Puck U" in 2012 (that team was then taken over by Canucklehead, whom held on to PK, until trading him to you).

So his compensatory pick would be your 1st rounder.

The kicker on this; if you are also keeping someone like Stamkos and/or Crosby, they will move up to the next available slot, (provided you didn't trade away that draft pick). So you could keep Crosby, Stamkos & PK with your 1st, 2nd & 3rd picks if you like.

Venmo? I hadn't heard of that until now .... :x

Looks like it is owned by Paypal.

Is there anything else out there for money leagues? Yahoo needs better keeper management, as once everyone selects keepers, I have to look back on previous season rosters, find out how long the guy has been kept for, bump them up 3 spots in the draft if necessary.

Don't get me wrong, I like the premise, but it's a pain in the ass.

http://time.com/money/4036511/venmo-mor ... than-cash/

We need to go back to the gold standard! Where's Ron Paul damnit!?
