No, same one, I'm just trying to clean up threads around here. The last one dates back to 2010(!).

Let's keeper the cup in Canada so shipping will be inexpensive!

Last year was our first year with Keepers. Max of 2. What I tried to do last year was move the new managers up in the draft for the first 2 rounds and drop the Keeper Managers back to Rd 3. That did not work........I will try that again this year. The budget of the Keeper managers was reduced at Avg Keeper price.

Fortunately we have the same core returning this year minus my son who is too busy actually playing real sports and chasing real tail.

If any of you guys can talk this up so we can drum up some interest.......Its got a cup.........a real physical piece of hardware to win. I am not opening this outside of OTP.

Any interested newcomers on the board interested in OTP prestige?

Depends on the amount of people. I was shooting for the weekend of 9/28-/9/29.

Again....this is not open to people that I don't know outside of this site and family. If I see them and I can't identify them I will cut them loose. Thanks.

Never did an auction league. How does it work?

With keepers, are new coaches taking over a spot from old coaches and get to choose their keepers from that coaches team or just tough titty toenails, choose from the chaff that is available?

I did it for the first time last year and it was a blast.

Basically when it's your turn to pick, you make your selection...but the catch is you don't just get that player. The player you "pick" is up for auction and all players put in bids, whoever bids the most gets that player. You all have a set amount of cash on hand so it's best to be wise and not blow your wad on one player. It also makes you rethink your draft strategy--it isn't necessarily a great idea to pick the best player available when it's your turn to put one up for auction since that player will likely be expensive.

So if there are keepers, what do they subtract from your budget? Whatever they cost the previous year?

I believe the average cost or Yahoo assigned cost.

PM your info and or I will post a link here. Yeah its the average yahoo player cost....and yes its sort of tough titties for new Owners...that's why I tried to just put new owners ONLY in the first 3 rounds of the draft last year. That didn't work out though. I will tinker with it again if we have new managers this year. If I can't get it to work it may just be a $50 bump to new owners for their Auction. Either way the cost is subtracted from the Keeper owners up front so they have less money to work with. Draft order is pretty much irrelevant with the Auction league and as the Professor alludes to it would be smart to have a strategy.

As we discussed here last year the shipping cost is outrageous if the Cup goes international (It is currently with Stink in Eastern Canada)......I fronted the costs last year but its on the Winner each year to get it where it needs to go. If that becomes problem we could always turn this into a small entry fee and maybe a cash prize (minus shipping) as well. Its up to you folks.

Hell, if I win, I'll chip in or pay all if indeed it's gotta cross the border.

I'd almost make a trip out to Canada to get it. If I won it of course.

Which I will.
