Team president Kerry Bubolz says fans with cable, satellite, or “cord cutters” will all be able to watch the games for free with this new broadcast.

This is in the wake of Time Warner just flat-out dropping their RSN network system. They didn't even declare bankruptcy, they just said "nah" even though they were still under contract.

Something to keep an eye on. It appears now that the cable cash cow is all but gone we will see a new term bandied about: Direct-to-consumer. Looks like it's going to be about just getting the games onto television whether it's cable, analog, or streaming. The entire landscape is going to undergo a very tumultuous sea change, we're in for a bumpy ride but I think it will turn out to be beneficial for viewers.
