Vancouver (P1) vs Nashville (WC1) I don't think Vancouver is legit. They will have to prove it to me every step of the way (I look forward to that). Nashville in 7.
2 of the top 10 centres in the league, the best dman, and one of the top 5 goalies and that still leaves you with doubts? The Canucks are legit.
The Preds are very good, but have had a very soft schedule since the all star break with a lot of non playoff bound teams. Its made them look far hotter than they really have been. They are also basically one line for scoring which I'd normally say should make this a cake walk. However the Pred's 5v5 possession numbers are very good and even a slight hair better than the Nucks, and their specialty teams are much better than the Nucks.
This should be close, if the Nucks lose it will be because of either specialty teams or Demko doesn't return to form from his injury. With all the Nucks talent I'm not sure why their PP is not better than it is (20th in the league).
Sorry....to me this one has all the makings of the B's first round exit last year but that's just my opinion. I am more than happy to eat crow!
I don't see this team being much removed from the team that seriously under performed the previous year. Ricky has them playing well but they are going to need to win a round to gather my attention. Nashville is going to bring the grit. So this is my upset pick.
Welcome back to the playoffs for the Nucks anyway......I know its been a bit and it is very exciting to get back in the dance!
