Among the teams still alive in the playoffs, the last of them to win a championship is the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006. If they lose, the last team before that? The Devils in 2003. Beyond that, Dallas in 1999.

No matter what, we're either going to see an entirely new team lift the Cup, or a team that hasn't won it in a good long while.

Who coincidentally played the Oilers.......I remember that series well. I mostly remember sitting outside on my deck drinking beer.....I had a wireless transmitter setup so I could watch the game outside....that was before wireless LAN had even taken off....now you can watch this anywhere.

The good news is, about the only teams I "dislike" are the Rangers and Stars, but even if they end up winning it I won't be all that bummed. Probably would have stung a bit to see the effin' Wylde somehow pull off a miracle but even then I'd have been fine with it.

So go...anyone I guess. Have fun.

A Seattle-Vegas third round would be amazing.

As much as I don't like the Devils, I hate the Rangers and most of their fans, so I'm glad they shit the bed.

I still can't decide if that Troube hit on Meier was clean or dirty. On one hand, principle point of contact is elbow to the head, but Meier was leaning down. But Meier was already trying to get around 2 other defenders. Kind of defenseless there. And it's Trouba, who is just a fucking dirt bag and loves throwing high hits. Meier's glove flying off and going like 20' makes it look really bad too.

Glad to see Meier return to the game, even if he looked like he had a box of tampons up each nostril.

Changing this title to include the rest of the playoffs since there are no fans of any of these teams left here. Leafs fans all evaporated over the past 19 years so if they come back around they can start their own.

Everyone knows I used to be a closet Rangers fan but recent years have made me sour on them post-Hank. Their bullshit "rebuild," the hirings of Quinn and Gallant, the chasing down of "toughness" at the expense of actual skill, and the last stray--the acquisition of noted slimebucket Patty Kane.

Also, any time the myth of "veteran presence" being supposedly superior a younger more skilled team and the whole notion of "learning to deal with adversity" blah blah blah gets punched in the mouth, I'm here for it. Even at the expense of my own team, which lost to a franchise that literally didn't exist three years ago.

Gallant is likely packing throwing his bags in the cab as we speak.

Boston Pizza (I still don't get why they call themselves that) is calling themselves "Auston Pizza" in Toronto and "Kostin Pizza" in Edmonton.

Tip of the cap to the marketing team.

Leafs and Stars figuring out how the Bruins and Avalanche went wrong. Pavelski with 4 goals.

8th place Panthers KOed the President’s Trophy Bruins and have the Leafs down 3-0 after an OT win. Wowsers.

Marner was so damn bad tonight. What a loser. Matthews wasn't much better but got slashed on the hand and didn't seem right afterwards. Hit crossbar in the opening minute.

Yeah...so what they made it past the 1st round. Its the same old act of the core. I guess if Leafs fans are good with one time out of the first round and partying like its 1999...

We want Florida....well there you go.

Fairly intrigued with a potential Florida/Seattle matchup.

Yeah, I think there has to be a MAJOR shakeup of the core if they bow out in four games. Marner is still proving to be a big choker when it matters the most.

Marner and Nylander have been pretty ineffective. And Tavares has been largely invisible, too. It really looked like they lost this series in the first period of Game 1 when Florida just hammered them at every opportunity. There was no push back...

Never the same since they lost their Hyman :rimshot:

Isles lost 2 in OT against the Canes. Maybe they're not so bad.

Leafs stayed alive and the Oilers tied their series. The latter series is getting nasty. Kind of fun to watch as an outsider.
