Did not expect this series to go the distance. Not having Max Pac really took a toll, and now COVID is making its way through the Vegas locker room.

The Knights should still win this one but...they may have let Minny stick around a bit too long. After a rough start, this year's Calder winner Kirill Kaprizov is starting to heat up.

This Minny team keeps surprising.

Imagine the retooling that'll go down if Vegas loses? They'll get Eichel for sure. Hell, maybe Jack and Connor.

Eichel? I'd welcome that. Their ambitions have left them with a good team but also no depth to speak of and it's showing in this series. One thing I read DeBoer has to do in order to make his lineup work is deploy Pietrangelo whenever the third and fourth lines are on the ice, because they're so bad he has to be back there when they inevitably cough up the puck. When you're burning up valuable minutes using your top defenseman to cover for your shitty bottom six, you're not really able to push the play effectively.

Plus...there's something about ol' Happy Jack that makes me think we're going to look back and say that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't quite the franchise superstar we all thought he was. I have no logical reason to base this on...just gut feeling.

Game 7 was a no doubter. Surprising season for the Wild comes to an end. At least ya got Kaprizov.

As for the Knights, they're about to play in the real final against the Avalanche.
