Do the Bolts have anything left in the tank? Will Khudobin keep on shutting the door? Are Hedman and Heiskanen the best defencemen in the biz? Stay tuned....

I hope the Lightning sweep it.

Both Eastern teams got beat to shit. Dallas has remained remarkably healthy throughout, only two major injuries I can think of, and one of them might’ve been a blessing in disguise.

Is this the first time two Russian goalies will face off in the finals?

Looks like it since this is only the second time two have appeared in the semis.

Quote:
Evgeni Nabokov, who was born in Kazakhstan but played for Russia internationally, knows a bit about making hockey history. He was the goalie for the San Jose Sharks when they reached the Western Conference Final in 2004, the only other postseason to have multiple Russian goalies starting among the final four teams.

Would have also been had the Isles made the SCF (Varlamov). So it was destined to happen.

No doubting Dallas anymore. Up 1-0.

Joel Kiviranta scored 12 goals for the Texas Stars this season. He's got 5 so far in 9 playoff games.

Miro has 18 playoff assists, which is just bonkers.

Interesting article on Jamie Benn, holder of what's considered to be one of the league's most onerous contracts, but who's now three games from leading his team to the promised land:

I cannot remember everything falling into place for another team as perfectly as it has for the Stars this postseason. Bishop out with injury, Seguin clearly laboring, and it doesn't matter because Khudobin is playing Vezina-caliber, Benn is playing like he was built for the postseason, and Heiskanen might very well be the best player in this tournament. I mean...fucking hell, Joel goddamn Kiviranta came out of the press box midway through this thing and has been a force ever since.

Tampa came out swinging in game two, but nearly blew a 3-0 lead. Not as convincing a win as it should've been.

Dallas looked defeated. Bones will have to weave some magic to get their mojo back...

Dallas finally met up against a team that plays as dirty as them. But they're also much more skilled. I sure hope they get run out of the bubble on a rail, but we'll see. I'm not about to declare this one over until it's over.

Tampa Bay are one away after taking game 4 in OT following a questionable penalty. Still need to see the replay i was watching baseball.

At the beginning of OT there was a 4-4 situation with a player from each team in the box. TB took a penalty and Dallas had control of the puck for about 20 seconds of delayed penalty time. Wouldn't it have been better for Dallas to just toss the puck to TB immediately and go to 4-3 then burn off 20 seconds which later became 20 seconds of 5-4 instead?

I didn't see it, but I think they view it as they have control and you never know what could happen off a faceoff so keep it. And especially in OT, if you can get your goalie off you've got that as added PP time. I get what you're saying, that you'd rather have 4-3 than 5-4 but I think in playoff OT, you take the certainty that you currently have the puck and they can't score unless you score on yourself so keep going for it as long as you can.

I watched the Game 5 OT. At least it's a series now!

As a neutral, I got my wish, They have gone at least 6 games with 2 games going into OT.

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning for winning the COVID Cup. They were the best team on paper, and now they're the best team in reality.
