That is bullshit! You set a bracket, you live with it. Period.

If they want to add a sort of secondary bracket, from the 2nd round on, that's one thing. But it's all about who can call things right, including upsets. Especially upsets. That's the whole point.

Does anyone else get the sense after the seismic upset of Tampa by Columbus, the energy has shifted the other series' giving the 'underdogs' a huge lift? Like the Caps series has become much closer than anyone expected, the Avs pretty much steamroll the Flames after game 1, the Isles barely break as sweat versus perennial playoff powerhouse 'Guins and the Bruins look a massive power shift from game 2 and did absolutely nothing with it. Jax or Isles / Avs finals anyone? Let's go!

Caps v. Isles should the Caps advance to round 2 would be unreal to see.

Apparently it's an entirely separate contest--the "Second Chance Bracket." Totally makes sense--allows for people to remain invested who wouldn't be otherwise while not disrupting the original contest.

I clicked on it. It pulled up my existing bracket. I couldn't be bothered to see how to go about making a secondary bracket.
But I still think it's more participation trophy bullshit. So your bracket is busted... So what? Mine is shot. Fuck it. That's what I predicted- the Flames winning it all. What does that prove? That I was clearly wrong. Some fucking 17 year old kid always wins the bracket challenges anyway. Or some twit that never leaves his mother's basement. Do people really care about that shit?

They are opening it up again at the completion of round one. Heard through a friend.....

So the 2 Wild Card teams in the West move on as Dallas defeat the Preds in OT of game 6. Not likely, but we'll see if those Carolina jerks can pull off yet another upset against Washington on Wednesday. What a wild NHL playoffs 2019 is turning out to be.

Caps vs Canes Gonna take the Jerks here too in 7
Isles vs Pens Pens(sorry Chris :( )

Flames vs Avs I dunno...Flames in 7? Goaltending will be interesting as hell.
Jets vs Blues Jets in 7. I think they just get it done here.
Preds vs Stars Perds in 5.
Sharks vs Golden Knights Knights in 6. SJ should have traded for Howard.

Seriously though this year's playoffs seems like it could be completely up in the air.

0/5 on completed series so far! Gotta be my worst yet.

So glad I don't gamble. Only got the Blues and Isles to win, didn't get the games right. Caps can make it 3/8.

 I was 0/4 in the west. 2/4 so far in the east.
So yeah, that second chance bracket challenge...

I'm 3/7 now, not bad all things considered. Could be 4/8 with a Caps win but I'd prefer 3/8.

3/7 as well. Could be 4/8 if Caps win which would still be my worst first round showing ever.

3/8 and damn proud of it.

Tampa, Washington, Nashville and Calgary all win their respective divisions. And none advance to the 2nd round.

If I had actually picked the teams I wanted to win and not the teams I thought would win I'd be 6/8 instead of 3/8. Going to pick with the heart instead of the head in this round.

Columbus > Bruins 4
Isles > Canes 5

Sharks > Turnips 5
Stars > Blues 7

Winning games represent how much I care. 4 strongest, 7 barely prefer.

Holy shit sandwich. I had to go to bed after OT1 was over. I was hoping it would go like 6-7 OTs so the winner would be dead on their feet for Friday.

I went 2/8 in the first round.

Finally on to the round of 8. :viking:

Indeed. Mr. O'MalleyCat, I hope you have been sitting in a recliner somewhere watching your team whoop the President's Trophy winners. Here's to ya bud.

3/8 for me. I'll take it.

For the record I am on the Isles bandwagon! :bandwagon:
