If Orpik isn't suspended for that late hit on Maatta...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj6poQTwxLs

Former Pen doing damage to the Pens' D, while former Cap, Fehr, scores the game winner for the Pens. Weird.

Tied 1-1.

Orpik suspended three games, Maatta out indefinitely: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/orpi ... tz-maatta/

Big losses on the blueline for both, but especially Pittsburgh. It's not like Letang can play more than 32 minutes a night.

Pens got hot at the right time and are flying right now, while the Caps clinched the Presidents ages ago and haven't quite played up to their level in these playoffs.

That being said, the Caps almost came back tonight and Letang might get suspended. This series is just getting started.

Tom Wilson called Mike Milbury "a respected hockey icon". Folks, this totally confirms just how stupid I've always thought Tom Wilson is.

And here's some evidence. Milbury talking about a playoff win:

Any guesses on a Letang suspension? Trotz's comments might put more pressure on the DoPS. Has he been suspended before? Where can you find that info?

I love this shit! Crosby once again proving he's better than Ovechkin! That line of Hornqvist, Sheary and Sid is great.....

Great series could easily be the other way around.

Time to see what Ovechkin and the Caps have left in the tank.

Great series to watch. Hope they kick the crap out of each other for 3 more games.

Damn. I was hoping this would go 7, since it was a fun series to watch. Oh well. I wouldn't be happy with either of these teams advancing, but obviously 1 had to. So, I'll look at it as the President's Trophy winner getting KOed. Yay.

Dammit.

Crosby with 2 assists and -3 and Ovechkin with 2G 5A +2 but we all know the people and narratives that those numbers won't stop(especially from the ones who like to cite +/- as gospel).

:haha: no sympathy for the Capitals. The Penguins were trying to give this one away anyway with their back to back to back delay of game penalties. I have appreciated watching Syd reach another more mature level this year. He is the best hockey player in the league.

The next series Vs Tampa should be something special. 2 well put together teams.

Enjoyed listening to Healy and Kypreos dance around the fact that Kessel was even on the ice for the OT winner, let alone made a sweet pass that played a big role in it.

The Caps should resist the urge to tinker too much. Add a veteran leader and some d depth.

That's what Williams and Orpik was, right?

Agreed though, I don't think major changes or blowing it all up is the right move.

Washington=San Jose East. Or is San Jose=Washington West?

They need to replace Mike Richards with a useful player. He's dunzo.

Washington is the 2016 version of the 2011 Canucks. #1 in virtually every category during the regular season, loaded with depth, great goaltending, President's Trophy by a mile, but couldn't get it done in the playoffs. Watch the decline start.

As for the Sharks, it's hard to know what to make of this team. They seemed like world beaters against the Kings, but I don't know if they were truly tested. Something was off for the Kings over the final month of the season and they went into the playoffs sputtering. Pavelski is leading this team like I have ever seen before, but it seems like the team as a whole is slowing down as round 2 progresses and is having trouble with the never die attitude of the Preds, who are coming in waves and never quit.

Considering they are in the Metro, I'd love to see them blow it all up!

One of those results that make you feel like the regular season is irrelevant.
