For the first time in my life I'm actually sporting a playoff beard! Not sure I'm going to keep it untrimmed though, it'd be Patrik Laine-levels of rattiness if I did.

I don't expect anyone to be dumb enough to jump on the Isles' bandwagon, but if anyone wants to, there's plenty of room among, well, me.

Now that the Habs are gone, I'll be throwIng my support behind the Isles -- and I suppose the Bolts in the East. Would love to see the Jax falter after all that trade deadline hullabaloo. Boston and Pittsburgh always need to be considered dangerous come playoff time, although the Penguins D and goaltending doesn't scare me nearly as much as in past years.

As for the West, I'm going underdog. Avs, Blues although must admit to having a soft spot for the Sharks this year (are they to be considered underdogs at this point?).

But as with all playoff series, a natural recalibration will occur once the real battles begin....
