Pronger could get inducted into the Hall of Fame before he's allowed to announce his retirement.

Evander Kane has to not only be better than Ilya, he has to be better than Hossa, Heatley, and Savard first. Heck, he still has to become better than Byufglien. Also, famous Thrasher Hall of Famer Chris Chelios!

And Ilya will come back to the NHL.

If he un-retires, is he Devils property? Because he certainly can't wait until after that contract is up. He'll be like 43, right? Okay, he could pull a Jagr, but does anyone think he's got a chance at that sort of longevity?

Nope, that contract is gone. I believe he has to stay out for at least a full season before he can return.

With J-S Giguere taking his victory lap with Teemu last night, it's pretty clear this is his last dance as well. With him gone after this season that's it. No more Whalers. And I believe that leaves Shane Doan the last of the original Jets still standing.

Okay. So the league isn't completely whale free yet.

Burke is still kicking as a league executive, too. And Francis is Rutherford's replacement if we're really stretching this that far. Maurice is still a NHL coach maybe.
