Broncos start off the year with (another) loss to the Raiders. And what's worse, it's due to a missed PAT. Urgh.

Still, can't be any worse than last year!

The good news is, the Chargers and Chiefs both lost their Week 1 matchups as well.

Dick Butkus Passes away at age 80. I've been a huge Bears fan since the early 80's and have stuck with them up to now, even though it is very painful. I now know what its' like to be a Leafs fan.

Was such an awesome middle linebacker in the day, and an all time Bear!

RIP

Butkus as a player was before my time but the name is synonymous with both NFL and NCAA football. He had an interview some 30 or so years ago with Barbara Walters that showed just how badly his body was destroyed by the game.

I'm old, but not that old, as he too was a little before my time. Had he been able to play a little longer, I may have been able to see him at the end of his career. But played in a time where the Bears were a respectful team and he gave it his all.

Well, frustrating as this Broncos season has been, that can't quite come close to what's going on with the Eagles (or Bills for that matter).
