Uh, what the fuck just happened with Carlos Correa? I don't ever remember a contract of that magnitude just getting nixed like that.

Absolute bullshit. Giants flagged something during the physical, took too long to make a counteroffer and Boras called up the Mets.

I think SF's cheapskate, Trump loving owner got cold feet at the lukewarm response and found the excuse he needed. I also think Correa wanted to play with Lindor.

Maybe it would've been loveless marriage, but it still sucks. Giants suck.

Mets are trying like hell to buy a championship. Great for their fans.

The rage hasn't really subsided, but I kinda don't hate this lineup?

CF Yaz/Slater
RF Haniger
LF Conforto
DH Joc/Davis
3B Flores/La Stella/Davis
SS Crawford
1B Davis/Wade/La Stella/Flores
2B Estrada
C Bart

I couldn't even tell you what the Rox starting lineup is. Maybe Charlie Blackmon and...some guys.

Carlos Correa is still looking for a home, three weeks after his Mets physical. Twins rumoured to be back in it.

Meanwhile, the Giants say they probably won't re-enter the sweepstakes. They got Mitch Haniger and Michael Conforto for the middle of the order. They can bop if they're healthy.

Correa limps (possibly literally) back to the Twins.

Of course this is all PENDING A PHYSICAL.

Nobody cares about the World Baseball Classic in Canada except for me, but I actually kinda like the team this year.

Freeman-Toro-Lopez-Leblanc is the best infield they've ever had, and if the Naylors are healthy they can bop. Unfortunately Romano picked Italy and the Jays won't let Pop go, so pitching staff is once again too thin to compete. Although this time around Pivetta and Quantrill are actual starters rather than digging Ryan Dempster out of retirement.

WBC lineups are out and obviously USA, DR, PR, Venezuela are stacked. Japan, Korea, Taiwan have their own leagues so they're better prepared. Cuba has some MLBers for the first time, but doesn't have their best.

I'd put Canada in that next tier with Mexico, Colombia, Netherlands. Panama and Nicaragua supply their own players, while Israel and Italy are silly but have their share of pros.

The World Baseball Classic is once again kinda silly and a whole lotta fun. It's strange rooting for baseball superpowers Israel, Italy, Great Britain and Czechia, but the stakes are low until Japan, Dominican, US are the last countries standing.

My one issue with Great Britain is that they could not have half-assed their uniforms if they (hadn’t) tried. The words “Great Britain” on the front in the most plain, tiny font possible, and there’s pictures of the ironed-on letters falling off. Jesus, I get the sport comes from your most troublesome colony but ya don’t have to go so “meh” over it.

I would've spent so much on Canada merch but it all looked so ugly!

I started typing in Great Brita and "WBC jerseys" auto-filled. They're like little league jerseys, including the bad kerning due to the button up seam. Looks like

GR EAT
BRI TAIN

All-time semi final between Mexico and Japan. Mexico was so close to pulling off the monumental upset but it was not to be. Shohei vs. Trout in the WBC final.

WBC haters can back off. Just wish Canada could put it together. They looked good for a bit.

Wow what a game that Japan/Mexico tilt must have been. The Japanese call is absolutely epic.

https://twitter.com/bubbaprog/status/16 ... 23584?s=20

Royally pissed that these WBC jerseys are not available in the MLB shop. Just a hat. I would've plunked down for a Team Korea jersey right away.

For all the many, many, MANY things MLB does wrong, this is of massive benefit to the game.
