I missed the final race because I forget to tape it, but the more I read about the race, the more I'm stunned over what F1 pulled. There was no reason to pull the safety car and deciding the race (and title) the way they did would be like suddenly deciding to end game 7 of the SC with a shootout.

If I was Lewis Hamilton - I would retire and be done with it. Even if he earns his 8th title, there will still be a large contingent who wouldn't give him cred.

I used to watch in the 90's maybe, Schumacher was the guy at the time when I last watched. Just seemed the cars got to expensive for the drivers to really race, felt like a high speed parade with the hopes of passing via pit stops.

Have not watched since don't know if it is any better now.

Feels like the design of F1/Indy race cars have changed significantly in recent years. They're not as open as they once were. Not complaining of course.

F1 is nearly unrecognizable to the heyday of the 80's and 90's - that seems nearly true for all sports as more and more money is involved. It seemed like there was more to the "driver" than the car - and all the safety rules kinda killed it (no pun intended lol). I seem to pay more attention to the story lines than the actual race these days.... which I could also say about hockey, come to think of it lol
