Wasn't getting a shot in Hamilton because starting QB Masoli is on a tear, so Johnny Football will get a chance to turn around the worst team in the CFL. Pretty stoked to have him in town, looked good in preseason.

His quest for redemption and rehabilitation seems genuine, I certainly hope he finds a measure of peace for himself off the field regardless of whether he finds success or not while on it. Not to minimize his domestic violence and alcoholism issues but I feel like the guy should get a chance to right the ship in some form. We'll see if he does.

I think Montreal is a good spot for him. Montreal loves a star, like when Drogba played for the Impact, and Als fans are desperate for anyone to come in and save the franchise. He'll have pressure to succeed but nothing like compared to college or the NFL.

He shouldn't have started. Not enough time with the playbook yet and the o-line was a joke. He was being set up to fail.

Nice catch Tom. That first half was hilarious. Stopped watching after that.

Johnny out the next few days due to symptoms associated with a side effect of a prescribed medication he's taking.

Concussions are a side effect of his meds?

Pretty clear it's a concussion now, but that wasn't what they said initially. It's a mess over here.

Well, Johnny is long gone, and the longtime owners of the Als, the Wetenhalls, are out after absorbing major losses the last couple of seasons. It's what happens when you put your dumb son in charge and fire the only GM you've ever known.

The two known parties looking to buy the team are Clifford Starke and co. (including Larry Smith's on Brad) and Eric Lapointe and co.

Starke is from Cote-St-Luc, a rich suburb, and the thirtysomething made his fortune in medicinal cannabis (!). Grew up watching the team with Smith.

Lapointe is a former Als running back, who retired quite young to pursue a career in finance. The media is pulling for him to win and be the team's first francophone owner, but Starke is ready to take the team's debt, so he's in first for now.
