BTW, what's the deal with the public ski goggle celebrations after a first round victory? All about celebrating the wins but geez this is a bit ridiculous.

Ehhhhh it's a baseball thing. I suppose given how hard it is to get into the postseason to begin with they figure every step is worthy of spraying the walls with champagne.

Couldn't have found a spot for Tapia in that anemic lineup? Can the Giants have him, then?

Bud Black is a great manager when it comes to handling pitchers, but a lot of his other tactical decisions left me scratching my head.

They do that when they clinch a playoff spot, if they clinch the division... I think it's such a long season they need to keep it exciting. But I think it's ridiculous. Also when the whole team waits at home plate for a guy after a walk off win and they jump up and down as a team like they just won a championship, but it's June.

Love watching the Yankees lose! Especially in New York! Kimbrel was clearly rattled after fans chucked a beer at him on the way to the mound. Lucky that meltdown didn't cost him.

Love that they played "New York New York" during their celebration in response to Judge blasting it at Fenway.

Not at the expense of the even more irritating Boston Red Sox and their fans.

Yeah, it might be like rooting for malaria over dengue fever, but I think I'll still take the Yanks and their insufferable fans over the Sox and their insufferable fans.

Go Houston!

Go Dodgers?

I was okay with the Sox until 2007 and they stopped the previously unstoppable Rockies in the World Series, and of course Colorado limped along for another decade (one more paltry playoff appearance in '09, then nothing) before showing up in the playoffs again. So...fuck them. But I'm kinda sick of the Yankees so, whatever.

I was a Yankee bandwagoner back when they had those amazing Torre teams built around Jeter, Martinez, Brosius, O'Neill, and my very favorite Yankee of All Time, Chuck Knoblauch.

There are plenty of obnoxious Yankee fans. I'm obviously biased, but Red Sox fans are much worse in my opinion.

Oh I definitely agree with this. I've often said that one of the worst things to happen to Colorado was the 2007 World Series. I had forgotten how awesomely wasted, rude and obnoxious Massholes and New Englanders in general could be. There was an influx of North Eastern Americans to this state after that World Series (at least over here in my area).

I've gotten over my bias towards New Yorkers years ago (Yankees fans still get vetted). Some of my favorite people that I work with are from Verizon in NYC. I can appreciate and respect the real, in your face, no nonsense approach.

I'm okay with whoever winning it.

Except for Milwaukee. Fuck you.

Just gonna hitch my wagon to the Dodgers, seeing as I live here now and it will make me more popular with the locals.

Solid CS' so far. Astros got hit hard in game 3. Karma for bringing in Osuna.

Brewers out to an early lead but it could evaporate in a hurry.

Meanwhile, the Mets and Giants are casting wide nets for the GM. I think SF wanted Cherington, but the feeling wasn't mutual. Jason McLeod looks to be the next best option. Just want the new GM brought in so we can start tearing the team down, or at least look to add some hitters.

Jays do the smart thing and hire a potential Felipe Alou to their Vladdy by bringing in Puerto Rican Charlie Montoyo as their new manager. Lots of experience, was bench coach in Tampa.

Apparently he played for the Denver Zephyrs    so that was a long time ago.

Zero interest in this year's WS matchup. I don't like either team so...whatever. I suppose if one of them has to win, go Dodgers I guess. Fuck the Sox.

Apparently it was revealed at the end of the WS game last night(this morning) that Rich Hill's nickname is Dick Mountain. Amazing.

The best team in the majors over the course of the season steamrolled the competition in the playoffs. The Sox pretty much had this one in the bag from the start. Deadly batting lineup that mixed power with high walk/low K levels. Young and athletic. Two horses in Price and Sale. A shaky bullpen that hung on just long enough.

Now time to figure out who gets to pay Harper and Machado a few hundred million.

Eh, in the end I'm glad the Dodgers lost. Didn't realize Machado is such a dirty player. A true sports villain if there ever was one.
