Overlying on the best player in the league and sticking with a defensive system that stifled offence. Sounds familiar ....

If Love and Irving were healthy this series at least goes 7, Cavs might've won in 6.

The DeAndre Jordan saga continues to entertain.

The NBA CBA is one of the most confusing things in sports.

? I haven't been following whatever this is...but he made a verbal commitment to a guy but never put his signature on anything? Why are they surprised that someone decided to change their mind before signing? Until you have the signature, nothing is guaranteed. Yeah, maybe he should have told them or said anything but if this is such a big deal fly out and get his fucking signature.

Not sure why this is a confusing CBA issue, unless that comment is unrelated.

I don't get the "midlevel exemption" nonsense among other things that have to do with the CBA, so it's somewhat of a general statement, but from what I understand the way the NBA has their free agency period set up, it kind of set the stage for this ridiculous scenario. I don't know that for certain, but this is just a super-weird situation.

Tim Duncan joins Kobe Bryant in retirement. Feels odd to say/type, but I can freely acknowledge their generational greatness, their incomparable talent, their obviously proven track records and also admit that I wasn't much of a fan of either of them.

Time for my annual post in this thread.

Whaddaya know, that other team that plays in Pepsi Center has everything on the line in the season finale. Beat the Timberwolves and you're in.

Some interesting things cropping up this NBA season. Analytics is also taking hold in basketball, it looks like they say the way to go is with pure shooters over big men who post up inside. Steph Curry is the future. Nuggets seem to know this and have a very fast team that, when they're on, can shoot like no other. Hell, even their budding superstar center, Nikola Jokic, is a pretty consistent 3-point threat.

That may be enough to get me back into basketball. I've kinda been drifting back toward the NBA now that a lot of players I didn't like (Kobe) are gone. It'll never be as fun as it was in the 80s, but we can hope.

Lebron is the greatest. Period.

And he's up against the only team that is even remotely capable of beating him.

Joel Embiid is a legend.

So is Bryan Colangelo for different but related reasons.

Can't say the Raps and Masai don't try to get themselves into the superstar business. Kawhi may not be coming by choice, but it's the only way they'll get a true franchise player there.

On one hand, the Raptors may have just gotten the most talented player in franchise history. But they also took on a complete headcase who can walk after one season. DeRozan isn't nearly as good, but he was loyal and probably would've played in Toronto the rest of his career. How valuable is that to a city like Toronto, where it's still (for some odd reason) not perceived as a great city by a large swath of NBA players?

You'd think given his past history Ujiri would not get himself into a position where a superstar player gets to dictate terms, but I suppose he felt he needed to take this risk.

Oh goodness...I'm into the NBA again!!!!

Kitchener native Jamal Murray drops 48 points on Kyrie Irving (who had 31 I think) and the Celtics, Kyrie and Boston got all bent outta shape because he went for the last-second shot with the game well in hand, but whatever.

Denver is 9-1, best start in franchise history. Yowza.

The best part: they're droppin' these sweet threads this season, based off the best uniforms in NBA history.

Steph rules, one big reason why the NBA is luring me back in.

On a side note, Nuggets absolutely annihilated the Lakers the other night and talked smack afterwards. Good deal. :Butch:

Agreed, Curry is awesome. Also, doesn't hurt that the Nuggets are in first and doing well this season. :P

Loving the Raptors again.

Last night's pummeling of the Warriors was a joy to watch.

Every time Greene had Steph in the post up I just laughed and laughed.

Why haven't other teams shamed the shit out of the 3 point shooting midget like this before?

NBA finals?

Raps in 6.
